Approximately 1% of our new users report this syntax error, it seems to be linked to the new users password being encrypted upon signing up. If you change your password to something completely different you will find you will be able to sign up with ease. We are working to solve this issue. Thanks for your patience.

As of September 5th we are running 5 servers so the chance of you being on the problematic server to begin with are 1 in 5.

i signed up perfectly fine, very proffesionaly made website i must say, then i proceeded to get a cpanel accnt, i got one too, and the details were someting like this:
username: username (this part i have no idea how they turned it out this way)
password: you my.shyper password.....(this part i understand)

later on, i proceeded to check out the demo, the demo admin are ss was very convincing, so i tried to goto the actual website, heres what i saw: '404 Page Could not be Found', i then tried to view my own page, mmkmaster.shyper.com , not viewable, yet again, you would think i would give up by now, but no, i m very persistant, so i try to chek out the ftp, which like the other stuff, DOES NOT WORK, so far my conclusion from these experiences leads me to believe that this service is in some VERY DEFINATE need of re-construction, or HEAVY FIXING!, also i tried to view my account information, and heres what i saw: 'Temporarily Unavailable'. I suggest you beta test your services before you advertise it to the mass public, because so far, I have not been able to access a single thing you advertised here or on your website.

I registered for a Shyper account a week or so ago, and haven't had any issues so far... except with it being down for upgrades.

The '24-48 hours' downtime has so far lasted since at least monday (I had no computer access at the weekend, so I don't know if it was down then). There is, as far as I can see, no indication in the support forums of how much longer this downtime will last.
While my site is currently (other Shyper users have been complaining in the Shyper support forum that their sites keep 'crashing') still viewable, I am unable to edit it or make updates... which is rather irritating as I was aiming to update regularly...

Other than that, however, this is a great free service. While the cp is slightly clumsy, it is still usable, and better than some other cp designs I have used in the past.

Hopefully my.shyper will be usable again soon....

They haven't deleted all free sites, mine is still up, or was as of 12 midnight last night (I haven't checked since then ;))

According to the shyper forums the free service will be back.... just not yet. While the paid registration is still there while the registration for free is down, it wasn't the paid hosting that was being modified to begin with, it was the free hosting.

Hopefully they will continue to offer new free accounts, because this is a good service and I'd like to move one of my other sites to a free Shyper (I can't afford paid hsting, even the cheap ones) ... but the free sign-up isn't open yet. Hopefully it will be soon. Until then... we'll all just have to try and be patient :)

Your website may have been removed in our recent clean up of our servers. This cleanup was performed on Oct 7th, 2004 in order to get rid of many abusers that were on each of our systems.

Prior to the cleanup being performed, two emails were sent out to our clients to inform them of our rather desperate situation, and to explain how they can keep their account.

To have kept your account you would have needed to fill in a survey. All of the survey requests were then processed by our automated system. Several thousand users were moved successfully, however if you filled out a survey, and your account was not moved, then you may have been on of the many users who entered their information incorrectly.

Unfortunately at this time we are unable to recover your account, and if you are seeing our main page when you try and go to your website, then your site was removed during that cleanup.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience, but the overall cleanup was a one-time necessary step in order to ensure that Shyper is able to continue operations in a cost-effective manner (by getting rid of the 1000s of users who were just burning bandwidth, trying to hack the systems, and SPAM).
