Well people these days are actually just thinking about quantity these days. Websites if managed well can survive with 10MB space. Though due to the increase of script usability, users have been spoilt, including cpanel and auto installers.

5mb is bigger than 1mb, i saw some1 here offer 1mb before (search and u will find it)

That's true, but if you have a photo gallery or art gallery which is very graphic intensive, it really wouldn't do to have 5mb. Nevertheless, this host should be cool for small sites.

You may only have letters, numbers, @ symbols and periods in your email address.
even though I do not have anything that isn't allowed.

All of tech-area.com and tech-area.net combined are just over 5mb, you can make amazing sites with 5mb. These pages are meant to be for personal homepages not for corporate sites or large sites with image galleries, and 5mb should do just fine.
What exactly are you putting in for your email address?
