Regarding the pay4host thing, the users signed up before will keep their account. And the posts are paid off just once. And we know who has an account, its all in the database.

In order to take your free hosting, you should post something useful. That's equivalent.

ifreebee is cool!!!!!! But it seems they need post 20 times per month to keep your free hosting.

15 Post isnt hard. Its like 2 day a post. And you get 500mb AND 20Gig of BW. Thats equal to a paid hosting.

You can't really says that our service is crappy...since we opened until now, there has been no down time except for the few first days. It has been running smooth since then.

You only need to post 30 posts, and you have all the time to do it. Also its a 1-time pay off. Sure we are being a little strict on the posts, but we are not taking any money from you. There are no reasons to complain here.

Not many people that are looking for free hosts out there use up that kind of space/bandwidth. If they do, they would not bother looking for a free host, since their site is way too important then to risk on free hosts.

Well. I had the same experience. I posted some, then someone PM'ed me complaining about my spam, and how i'm never going to hosting and whatnot, basically insulting me. I wasn't there for hosting though, due to I do not need it, just to check out the forum.

may be you tried to spam , u went to check thier forum even though u dint want hosting ? that is hard to beleave , but it is possible that someone may have told u that ur spamming , i saw it happening with some people too ,
but now it is not like that ,

This is great host, I've had them for almost 2 months and they are great. Just waiting for my site to be back up becuz of domain/server transfer but I would greatly recommend this host. All though it would be great if you would offer up to 10 sql databases for the hv-3 plan.

Uhhh... I have the hv-3 (domain only package) and so far I'm using 4/5 sql databases.

ya thats what i meant. But my site started out so well ( we had 5000 unique daily after only 2 weeks online) and now I imagine were gonna be lucky to get 50 unique a day. Im starting from ground zero again.

if u entered a valid email then you should have got the mail ,
but assuming u dint get the mail still u should make random backups ,
but that doesnt mean that all data will be lost , :shame:
when moving to diff server it happens many time that u lose some data ,
it doesnt affect everyone ,maybe some people ,
and yes when the server is online , everything will be online with it like ftp and mysql and stuff .

This site is down since ages I hope the administrator is on his heels.

i got the email on Nov 13th and it stated "Also, we might be down for 1-2 days due to domain moving and such. I apologize for any inconvienence this may cause." well it certainly has taken longer. I guess i c an wait one more day and really hope everything is ok soon

well ur were smart :P but others who dint do backups ,there is no need to worry , it is not like that ur 100% going to lose all your data ,

ur data can be safe ,but cnx doesnt take any responsiblity for it if it is lost ,

cuz all the members ar encouraged to make random backups,
and in this case cnx admin had sent a mail to every user .so u cant really complaint :shame:

trust me even i am online here of losing active members ,but i dont want to jump on other host , normally i give 2 or 3 days to my host if it doesnt come online i jump to another host ,but this time it is different ,cnx has shown signs of improvement and i know they will come back and they gave a very good service for 3 to 4 months ,
so i hoping they will come back up soon ,

Any Estimate as to when they'll be online, I agree cNX has been an excellent host so far i had only had one downtime since ive been with them but, any one (Sprid) got any info as to when your servers come back?!

Well Spirid informed us that they would be by monday (today) "at the latest". I presume today or tomorrow they should be back up.

well for me today is the last day ,if he doesnt come back by tommorow i will surely move to another host , cuz i have already given so much time to cnx it been days now ,unless he comes here and gives of some info about when the hosting will be up , but even if he says it will take 2 more days ,i wont stay with cnx then :shame:

I dont think anyone can cope with this much downtime but since i didn't make a backup i have no other choice!! If its backup by tomorrow (Wed Aussie Time) then people thinking of movin host shouldnt (name server changes take about a day or two.

Uhh yeah I did, right after I got the first e-mail, I backed up my entire site; databases, css, and php in all. But since spirid said hosting should be back up in 24 hours, which is 4 hours and 4 minutes from now I have a load of uploading to do before the night is out ;)

Well it looks like the centaurinetx site is back, although the forums still aren't. It should take a few days for our sites to be up since our domains if we have em need to be configured. So just hang tough for a little while longer and everytyhing will be fine. :)

once the site is fully up (which it isn't right now), I will upload the forums as it were 1-2 days before the server goes down.

I came here to seek for answers and I see that everyone are in the sweet awaiting for cnX to come back to life too.
Well, I keep testing the link of cnX since monday and it still doesn't work.
This waiting time is really killing me! :nervous:

Spirid this is honestly stupid and pathetic. There is no way in the world that a change of servers should take THIS long. As a paying customer and long time supporter of cNX, I am honestly dissapointed. Free host or no free host, this is unacceptable. :shame:

the server moving itself took us 2 days, but the actual domain moving took over 1 week.

we asked our last registrar to change our nameservers, but at the end they did not do it. So after wasting 24 hours of waiting, I found out and decided to transfer my domain to a new registrar, and that took over a week like I said. Combining domain transfer/creating of nameservers etc, took us 2-3 days.

We are now back online though. I sincerely apologize for all the trouble this has caused you all.

the DNS is probagating, slowly, but some of our members have been able to access our site and forums now.

it should be 100% within the next few hours or so. Same with users that have their own domains. Your nameservers need at least 24-48 hours to take on the changes made to the nameservers.

knowscore, i apologize for the inconvenience, good luck with your new host :). My advice is, if you are running a serious business site, free web hosts are not for you. You are probably better off with a paid hosting, we all know the massive movements of new and old hosts over the last 6-8 months.

It's been over a week and so far my site hasn't been backup for starters, the cnx website after 1 day of being up has gone down again, and the forums havn't comeback up. Is Cnx finished?, cuz it's starting to look like it.

yer right placeing ads on every page.. nah.. cNX's main site and forum was up an hour ago and now i cant access it!. CNX DO SOMETHING FOR crying out loud! it should have never taken more than 2 days ! not 1 week! that much downtime is not up to scratch. i guess you have to advertise 80% uptime instead of 99.9 :( please sort things out quicky!
