I have found a domain registrar that has worked great. It is Hostway. I believe the site is at www.hostway.com . Only $6.95, and they accept checks and money orders. I have been with them for a while, and everything is going just fine. They let you enter up to 6 DNS names and give you a temporary page until the DNS propogates. I would suggest them.

They also have a feature where you can make your own DNS names. I havent tried it though.
