Hi,

My site is going to get more traffic because it's going to be featured in some big sites. This makes me nervous. Right now I'm using 40 Gig of Tera-byte bandwith/month.

I have no idea how much traffic I'm gonna get because of this publicity. Twice as much? Ten times? I don't know.

Tera-byte will charge $5 for each gig bandwith over the limit. If I go over the limit by 200 gig, that means $1000. And I don't have that kind of money. :(

Is there any other host that will charge a lower price of over-the-limit bandwith? I don't want to suddenly get a $1000 bill in my credit card.

Or, a host that will give me real-time bandwith usage information so that I can take down the site if it's over the limit. Currently Tera-byte only has a daily usage info.

Any other suggestions ?

Why don't you get a raq over at 4webspace.com ? Owned by Tera-Byte.com as well.

If you think your going to get a sudden influx of traffic to your website due to pubnlicity why not contact Steve the CEO of tera-byte and work something out? Pay a set fee for the amount of bandwidth you use and also display the tera-byte banner which will benefit both you and the webhost.

http://www.thinkhost.com did this or something similar when one of there clients lissasays got publicity on CNN. So maybe sending them an email might be a good idea they may help you out if tera-byte cannot. But from my personal experience with tera-byte im sure they would help.
