You are right, and by the way... I am not American... I am Spanish. It was us Spanish that founded America. The Vikings got there the first though but nothing really happened in the way of settlements.

But, I must imply the United States has done more advancements than Great Britian did in a thousand years... who is the winner? The United States had to share its Military Technology of the Forties, where it developed the Vaccuum Computer to Europe, because they were way behind. Facts are facts. The Americans had advanced in Science and Technology more than Britian has in a thousand years.. and ever since America was founded they developed technologies at a alarming rate.

But I thank the US Military for developing the Internet and Computers, without them there would be nothing.

First of all, the atomic bomb was suggested and developped of Albert Einstein who was german. Americans helped him, but he came up with the idea!
Europeans may not have invented the internet, but they invented Linux. And without Linux, your hosting company would be on windows and be full of bugs.

BTW, I'm a french canadian, and I wish we would have gotten rid of the british at the same time as you.

Giancarlo, I agree that today amiricans are the leaders in technological achievements, but you should not overestimate inventions like the internet. Internet is something new and thats why people are so excited about it (including me). But every era and civilization gave something to build the world as we know it today(others more and others less). Some other civilizations could argue that if they had not invended the alhpabet you wouldn't be able to read this now, and if they had not invended mathimatics no computer or internet would be posible.
Everyone can be proud for his civilization, or admire another one, but as I said before science (and everything), is evolving and everything is based and build on knoledge from the past.
I am Greek, and I wish to our friends Americans to develop such a civilization that will be remembered and admired 3000 years from now.

Anyway, that is the entire reason the free-web hosts are dropping like flies, the slowing economy. Most were started in a time when it looked like the sky was the limit, and they were all going to retire before 30 like most of the dot-com's that went under. Just a once in a while trip to www.f--ckedcompany.com and you see exactly the effects of this 'slowing economy'.

Did you know that the british seperated families and deported them? They just put them on boats and sent them away. Some were sent to Louisiana while some others were sent as far as Australia!

Bigperm that is incorrect, the US economy will be restarted by the tax cut which has the potential of adding a whole percentage or two points onto the Gross Domestic Product Increase. I am taking Economics so I know what I am talking about... little slow-downs like this does not mean the economy is going to hell, it means the over-bloated internet companies were over-invested and are starting to fail because people are placing their hopes back in more traditional sectors like Petroleum or Automotives. The Clinton era was dominated by corruption in the Public Sector which could of led to the macro-mismanagement that plagues both sectors. The Clinton era was a time of undeemable over taxation where it felt like there was a war that needed to be funded. The Public and Private Sector under the Clinton era were managed badly, and once a businessman like Bush takes office, in one year there would be +2.5% Growth in both the GDP and Industrial Production Rate. This would push the economy ahead, and I believe that the interest rates were responsible for the downfall not Bush. Bush has pushed through one of the most important and best-helping tax cut packages in over twenty years that can send the industry of commerce which would be screwed over in Socialism to spraling new heights. The slowing economy is because of the past President, not the current one... the problems of today cannot be fixed overnight by important and positive reforms initiated by the current President. Take a look at Reagan, in 1981, the American Economy was in hell... in 1986 it was growing at one of the fastest rates ever, well it probably takes several years to jumpstart it again. The ideas of Commerce and Industry are not founded by stupid and illogical ideas called Communism or Socialism, where no income is generated for the people of the nation.

That is why Captialism Works and that is why the Economy will take longer than overnight to recover. The Bush adminstration is the best thing to happen to the United States in over eight years.

I believe in socialism and in mixed economy. If you want to be a politician I would sugest to look and take care of the average people that make up the great majority and not the numbers.
Numbers don't always say the truth about a society.
For example if we have 2 "countries" with 10 people each. In one everybody makes between 7 to 12 dollars an hour and in the second 9 of them make 2 to 5 and 1 makes 300. Which country is better? Numbers will tell you that the second one is better.

The GDP Per Captia is a general census of how much a population makes. If this number is higher than the population is better off. However the system I don't support is that of Brazil, where the divide is quite large. I am against forced Redisturbutions which reduces the size of industry therefore the average person makes less anyway. I am for the growth of Captialism where most at least 80% get to the Middle or Upper Class. The Middle Class is all the development of the Lassiez Faire System, and that is the best because a controlled economy is the worst way to go. If you disagree then take a look at North Korea, where it is the most centrally planned economy in the world, the economy is shrinking on the average of 5-10% annually. In Ecuador, most industries are state-owned and controlled and the people are losing money. Therefore Socialism IS not the way to go because it makes the general population lose money instead of gain money.

With Socialism you allow people to become rich but at the same time you tax them heavier so that you can use that money and nobody will be homeless, and you can have good public health system and good public education for everybody.
I lived in the US for some years and I know. It looked quite ungly when a friend of mine was taken ergently to the hospital screaming and the nurses were asking him for his insurance policy and made him sing papers. Basicly if you are an avarage person you pay in the varius insurance companies what you save from taxes. I had friends of mine traveling from Florida to UK to do their teeth because it was much cheaper that way !!

In the days of Tito our country was in no worse shape than it is in today. All were equal, all medical treatment was free, school were free...
And look at these things now: the difference between rich and poor is getting bigges as in western countries, medical treatment is getting more expensive (in 10 years or so it'll probably be as it's in the west - the more you pay, the healthier you get), schools are still free, but they're already thinking about billing you to go to the university.
I'm not saying that we have live worse than before, because we don't. Our per capita income is even greater that the one in Portugal and in Greece. I'm just saying that the ones who don't succeed will slide to the bottom of the social ladder and will stay there forever because they won't be able to pay the school and medical bills. The same situation is visible in the western countries like Spain, Italy, US...

Well. It seems that Giancarlo has missed the point of what I was saying yet again. Apparently if you bring up an issue he doesn't like, he ignores it completely. He's going to be the perfect politician. (Plus, he has no idea what he's talking about: Socialism is NOT the same as Communism.)
The point I was trying to make is that money means absolutely nothing when compared with the health and well-being of people. That's right: people! The only thing that makes money work. If everyone suddenly decided that they wouldn't accept your money, then what would you do? You'd starve and die. The people who believe in money the most are the ones with nothing to contribute - those who would die or become thieves if we ever went back to the barter system. Now that's an economic system that works. The only reason money is better is because it's easier to carry around. Money was supposed to be a more convenient way to represent what you earned by working hard. But the people that make the most money now are the ones that do the least work. There are very few people who deserve to make millions of dollars. Maybe researchers who cure diseases, or surgeons, or doctors, but certainly not singers, or professional athletes, or CEOs.

A good politician in my opinion is the one that serves and cares about the 100% of the population. From the rich and famus to the criminals in jails.
Communism (the ideal one, not what they had in USSR) is a system were everybody is equal. Unfortunatly such a system is utopian and can not work with humans since most of us want to be able to take the risk to became rich and famus and don't like to be equal with everybody else.
Pure capitalism on the other hand is a jungle where money is all that matters. If you are strong you get to the top and you get rich, if you are weak you go to the bottom and die.
Thats why Socialism and mixed ecomomy is the best system. It gives to the people the oportunity to make themselves stand out of the crowd, to become rich if the want, but it also makes sure that everybody can have his/hers basic needs needs sutisfied (including good education and health system).

No Socialism is not good. It drains the resources of commerce. A mixed economy is not good. A Lassiez Faire Economy is good. A Lassiez Faire system is the most fair for most of the country. Currently the US Economy is a Lassiez Faire with some minor controls on interest rates and tax settings.

Issue at hand

As time goes on, and as people start to think more commonly in this bulletin board. As this process starts, people start to realize that this entire deal must and should be ended in line with the rules of the foundation of this forum, the rules generally applied to everyone. These general rules must be followed, and the rules must apply to everyone, so that the foundation does not break out in chaos. I must object to the fact that people are using my picture, and that this has gone to far. I have taken action upon that, and moved all the pictures to a secret location in a different folder that is unaccessiable to the public. This time we must end this war and bring peace with gratitude towards one and each other so that cruelty is not often applied towards other people in this forum. As time goes on I am thinking of new horizons of the future, and shall not and will not accept posters calling me "sexy" or anything in that matter. As the issue continues at a standstill I want to conclude an agreement that will end the war, and bring peace throughout this establishment. This establishment was founded on a principle that all others were founded on and that is one's right to post and one's right to be respected. I must furthermore, apologize for using offensive language on my part, and am expecting an apology, however if I don't get one, I will realize it is not of any use in asking anyone here for anything.
