Strikebf November 21st, 2004, 14:50 It's been a while since I told you about nyTka hosting! This time though, we're back with a better plan, and Plesk control panel!
Our great plan includes...
1 GB of Disc Space
No Ads!
PHP
Perl
CGI
Python
mySQL databases
Unmetered Bandwidth*
FTP
Shared Linux Box
Virtual Web Server
Subdomain Hosting
Frontpage Support
Plesk Control Panel
99.9% Uptime
Want more features? Ask us, and you might just get it!
nyTka hosting is very proud to now offer Plesk control panel with our hosting! Also, we have a second server to go along with Plesk!
* We won't meter your bandwidth, but if your site uses TOO much bandwidth, we might ask you to either pay us for the extra fees, or put our ads on your site (the choice is yours!).
NOTE: To recieve hosting, you must have at least 10 posts on our forums (which has 330+ active members). We have a great community! Don't think you wont find a way to get 10 posts, it will be easy! Which is why most of our members stay active, although it isnt required!
One of our users- mysty told me this about our community:
This community is so ... warm and welcoming! Normally I am active in forums, but in this forum, I am very active. Very quick answers to questions... less than 12 hours most of the time! Great job, nyTka! I hope you stay here forever!
That is an actual quote... not a fake one.
Why not take a look today? It's just a click away! http://www.nytka.org
Thank you,
Benjamin Feldman

AdmiralKishen November 23rd, 2004, 07:09 Its a great host, but theres no plesk yet thats all, soon but not yet...It really is a great host
I mean 1 gig and unmetered bandwidth for ten posts? common its awsome
myextrahelp November 23rd, 2004, 09:26 Would you consider supporting domain hosting instead of just subdomain?
Strikebf November 23rd, 2004, 16:10 We do indeed have Plesk! The post you read was probably outdated.
Infact, I have it! The login is https://ares.nytka.org:8443
Stop saying we dont! Lol!
Also, we DO support domain hosting with our new server!
AdmiralKishen November 23rd, 2004, 18:03 Nice Sorry about that, In the forums I didnt see anything but this is sweet cool!
Thanks again for the clarification!
*Edit* Cant log into Plesk, I was one of the old people when it had 200 MB hosting long time ago, my website http://openspace.nytka.org
myextrahelp November 23rd, 2004, 19:17 Thanks for responding Strikebf. I am a little confused. I went to your site and it looks like domain hosting is only allowed if you post "Amount=82 Price=150 per month". Am I reading this correctly? So domain hosting is only allowed if you maintain a monthly minumum post count?
YaNoWaTiMsAyN November 23rd, 2004, 20:45 sorry to down you nyTka, but 1 gig is alot, and thats alot for hosting, even for some paid hosting companys.
I do not need the hosting though! ;) I have seen hosts like this, have a 6 month spand. If you can keep BUYING space and LOOSING money by giving away free hosting, then do that. I would understand more if you offered free hosting, but you don't. A comment: The plan looks great! A warning: People, don't make a large attracting site here, (no offence at all nyTka) and if you do, make sure you have the files your computer!
tmgavin November 24th, 2004, 00:18 I dont this will last.. just like practically every unlimited host
nickle November 25th, 2004, 01:45 I'm using this host as well for more than 1 month. Can't demand more from a free host and admins that taking money out oftheir pockets to finance our free hosting.
Great community, good admins, good moderators and they have some nice ideas for their forum.
Highly recommended.
golden3159 November 25th, 2004, 17:43 i noticed the forum has many unanswered requests.
tarawa November 25th, 2004, 18:17 i noticed the forum has many unanswered requests.
That and just about every place to post for your hosting is about programming, or giving or asking for support.
Strikebf November 27th, 2004, 09:22 We PM the user of their information. We feel it is unsecure to post the user details in front of about 330 members.... don't you?
mysty November 27th, 2004, 14:47 I am Mysty I have been in Nytka for a bit usually I am active and I do adore that crowd they have great hosting and leave the people to run the sites usually as they see fit. They try to maintain a top notch comunity and a top notch place to us to call home. Yes my name is the same here as it is in nytkas forum. I nearly quit the other day. Not because of Nytka but because of me I inadvertantly said some a few things I should not have and would not have done normally. I don't why I did that I don't know to this day why I did. I told the person I was sorry but it continued to bother me. I felt bad, As tho I had tainted a top notch comunity I am who I am I am not one to post a lot any where I have and do post there I do need to go back and edit a post I made there a day or so ago. I don't think they have seen it yet and hopefully they never will. You can ask what questions need to and they will usually answer if they know the answer. You can read the information about the little store and getting hc It is not hard I have a lot of them. They give them for posting and chatting.
You could do a lot worse than Nytka and I have if you ever check out some of the underhanded things hosters have done you will know what I mean. They can and do post nasty little things on your site that you cant see. But a text browser can.
Good luck and check out Nytka when you can.
Strikebf November 28th, 2004, 08:33 Thank you Mysty! Your support is appreciated!
myextrahelp November 28th, 2004, 08:51 Hi Strikebf,
I don't know if you saw my post awhile back, but I am wondering what your requirement is to have domain hosting? Do you have to maintain a certain monthly post count? I know you stated here that your new server supports domain hosting, but you didn't mention anything about any requirements.
Thanks again and good luck!
Strikebf November 28th, 2004, 09:18 Oh, sorry. The domain hosting is simple. As mysty stated, we have HC as currency in our forum. Each time you post, you get a certain amount of HC based on how long your post is. Once you have enough HC, go to our shop and buy domain hosting. Once you have done that, in OUR forums, either PM me or admin with the domain name, and we will get you set up asap!
myextrahelp November 28th, 2004, 12:36 Thanks for answering Strikebf!
That's what I thought I read in your forums. It looks like you have to post every month to keep it ("Amount=82 Price=150 per month" whatever that means related to HC).
I don't mind an initial post count to receive hosting, but I generally avoid hosts that require monthly posts to keep an account. Thank you anyway!
mysty November 29th, 2004, 10:13 we have the ability to help others I for one enjoy postings in that forum I have more than enough hc that I don't use I can and do give them away. I do this frequently I is not hard to come in a few times a month and say hi this is not a bribe It is how I and others do things. I believe in helping others I know I will at least their post more I am surprised I am posting again here again. I am not saying you have to do that I am saying that it I didn't think the forum idea would work either I said so. You can find my post in the forum where I did disagree with it. but....All the stuff you get is already included after the first 10 posts. and you keep and strike correct me if I am wrong. You would lose nothing after that, But if you got a domain and you needed the extra to keep the tld talk to me. Maybe I can help. I hope this explains Nytka and why I like the place so much
Supa Kitsune November 29th, 2004, 13:25 I dont this will last.. just like practically every unlimited host
You don't this will last? OMG WOW!!!111one
Fill in the blank. :/
Strikebf November 29th, 2004, 16:33 Okay- we will last! Anyway, although it says it requires a monthly buying, we dont really inforce it :)
Strikebf December 2nd, 2004, 20:01 We have resolved all problems with our new server, and all should be working normally now.
We have also expanded our support team, so now there is a better chance of us being online for the online support chat, as well as getting your trouble tickets answered faster!
Emucxg December 5th, 2004, 11:09 i have requests for hosting in that forum about month ago,
still waiting..........
tmgavin December 6th, 2004, 05:13 I dont this will last.. just like practically every unlimited host
Okay, im gonna retract what i said, cuz i was just looking back at my old posts, and i felt tt it was pretty rude of me to just diss a host, before i even tried it.
Manzi December 6th, 2004, 10:50 hopefully will be faster then zhosting.tk
Strikebf December 8th, 2004, 19:50 We are faster then zhosting... for sure! Also, we are not accepting as many account lately because of ... well, just come to our site 1/1/05 and you'll see something amazing.
Manzi December 8th, 2004, 20:16 ooooooo cant wait im glad i was acepted thank you so much guys
t0pher December 8th, 2004, 23:34 looks good to me. whats your uptime?
mmkmaste December 9th, 2004, 17:09 looks good to me. whats your uptime?
hmm.... are there any exceptions to your plans posting and active members requirement? pm me and ill explain why i would need it.
mysty December 13th, 2004, 07:33 Well the uptime is great I have hosted since early october I have never lost time due to downtime. I don't recall any downtime since I have been hosted. Nytka works hards to give it's members all that they need. When it comes to a free service they go above and bejond sometimes things take a bit longer yes but its worth the patience in the end. Besides we have a pretty active forum to chat in. I try to chat with everyone. Sometimes to the determent of my site ugg strikes reads this I may be in the dog house. I can tell you we have a community that works. I have to commend the admins and the moderators and our members they work hard they answer questions for the new ones and that makes the people want to stay. I can't say we get 100% happy people but we certainly get 99.99% and that is saying a lot. Enjoy check us out. I am sure you will enjoy.
Manzi December 13th, 2004, 11:12 so far my service is great...!
