Whenever I try to use vBulletin 2 with Freesql.org's service, I get the message "Attempting to attach to database..."

Then it does nothing.

I've heard that there are some people here who have successfully installed a forum with Freesql org. What's wrong with this?

Database server type: mysql
Database server hostname / IP address: freesql.org
Database username: coolin
Database password: yeah sure, you wish
Database name: coolin
Technical email: coolinNOSPAM@NOSPAMpostmark.net

Any ideas on how to fix this?

your database hostname should be localhost

database server should not be localhost, because the mySQL is not "local", the database server should be an url to your database with username/password. it might something like "db.mysqlserver.com"

yeah, i thought freesql provided webspace also, wow, they sure are undertaking quite a feat.
