I got this message.

As you know, your free Namezero membership has expired. However, our records show that your domain xxxxxxxx.com is currently registered by Namezero through 2/8/2002 . Because of this unusual situation, we are temporarily dropping the price for you to reclaim your domain from $34.95 all the way down to $9.95!


Does this mean I pay $9.95 to transfer the name to me and use it's plus service to 02/08/2002?

Hi,

There is nothing "unusual" about the "condition" of your domain as they state. They simply extended the registration period under the assumption that you would go ahead and pay up for another year.

Namezero finally realized that people will let the domain name expire and then grab it back up when it becomes available.

If you pay the $9.95 you will get to use the domain for the period specified. As far as transferring it to another registrar - good luck!

They'd been pestering me for the past month about renewing my domain for a special offer of $19.95 and I was almost tempted to get my domain.... buuuut, good thing I didn't... because today I too recieved an email saying I could get the domain for $9.95!

Sweet.

When you pay with namezero, can you specify nameservers and such things?

Do nothing... They did the same thing with one of my domains... I don't really want it anymore though...

They sent mine about, i dunno, a week or two after my final chance and expiration date.

Better go find mums credit card... hehe.

I got a NZ message today saying they can give you a .cc domain for $9.99, and a .com for like $15.99 or something.
