I'm going to buy a monitor and thought to ask some advice anywhere I can.
I wanted 17" and at least 100Hz at 1024x766.
and found quite nice Compaq, 105 Hz and Flat. It is named "Compaq 17" V710 Flat". Have anybody had some experiences with it? Or knows sth about Compaq monitors generally?
Tnx.

why is compaq evil?

Personally, I'd go for Samsung or Viewsonic monitors. They're pretty inexpensive and the models with the Diamondtron tube are quite affordable when compared to Sony Trinitron monitors.

compaq is not evil. he is just ignorant and uneducated.

my secondary system is a 4-year-old compaq pII 300 that still reboots at 98% clean and runs like the ----ens. of coure, i formatted it after owning it for about a year to clean all the ugly pre-installd files out and only reinstalled what needed to be there. so it's really only the shell of a compaq, with custom brains.

but still, it runs like a mother.
