I hae tried two different free servers, and both times, before I get half of the files uploaded that I need, I run out of space in MYSQL? The free server gives 5megs of space for MYSQL, the cheapest paid is 5megs and the mid priced server gives me 10megs. I am at 7.7megs right now. So if I just add things together, I will need over 25 megs by the time my files and information are uploaded. And then even more when users join and post thier own software.
Am I doing something wrong? Or is VBulletin "hoggy" when it comes to MYSQL? Even though my server provides MYSQL, do I need to install it to solve this problem?
Is there a way to "compress" MYSQL or what? It is getting aggravating spending hours to get the site set up and then getting the message

"There seems to have been a slight problem with your database"

My Vbulletin is not modded at all, in fact the only change to the "virgin" software is the change of the vbulletin_logo at the top of the page...

I would appreciate any help that anyone can offer....

TIA

Um... try phpBB or get a paid host. A few dollars a month aint really gonna send you into bankruptcy is it?

Your using a free host that's why you are experiencing problems. Just get paid hosting unless you blew all your money on vb.

I was storing all my files in the database, not on the server.... :shame:
