Yeah, I know it's common... and i'm used to it doing it every half hour or so... but this past week... it's become worse, much worse!
Previously when it crashed, it'd do the thing where it closes all your Internet Explorer windows, and the thingy how ya can't see some of your icon thingys in the taskbar... which I could live with...
But now, as of a few days ago, when it does it... it totally kills everything... and I can't run anything at all, the screen is blank apart from the lovely blue background colour I have...
What sucks about this is it means i've gotta restart, which means I have to reconnect to the 'net... which means another phone call...
I searched for a patch or something, but came up with nothing...
Anything I can do??

I would reinstall OS. To do that you must have the distributive of the OS. I have ME and did the reinstallation some times, (at first I could not find some options of Internet in the new Explorer and came back to SE, then again to ME) It takes about 30 min. My Explorer works very stable and never crashes. The only bad thing happens, when I try to stop the first phase of connection with ISP, then I am forced to reload ME. But a lot of communication programs behave strangely at the phase.

Hm, well it was happening and I had '98 on... so I thought maybe putting ME on would fix it up... but nope. Reinstalling ME over that woouldn't change anything would it?
And lol... I COULD format it... but err... last time I did it was like... about 5 or 6 days ago... hehe.
I never had these problems in the days of Dos... :D

You callin' me stupid? J/k
What's the repair?
I don't think I have IE anywhere; I spose it's on the ME CD... don't think you can find it and install it seperately from there; eh; i'll go have a look.
Damn, I don't wanna have to go download it.

ME->ME keeps all besides IE settings (as i rem)
Did you try to check hardware by CheckIt? It was an article that S3 cards have bad video memory leading to picture crashes
(CheckIt unable to find that)

Don't know about ME, but otherwise -
If you go to Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs, highlights Microsoft Internet Explorer and click "Remove", you should be given the options to "Add new components" or "REPAIR INTERNET EXPLORER".
