Did you bother reading that? :-) Because $4.99 x 12 = 59.88 > $40.00. Just a thought...

Yes I did read it ;) But what he is asking for that price is a bit hard to offer if you want reliable hosting.

That's not the issue however, if you can't meet the users request please do not post.

I'm still looking for an offer. Don't let the PHP5 requirement scare you away. I may consider a host even if it doesn't meet that requirement.

:topic: Sorry :biggrin2: but a question I feel I need to ask.

I'm interested in why to a standard http page request a self generated (no identifiable issuer) SSL cert notification pops up a few times [ah] phu? Just it makes me wonder a bit nothing against you but I doubt anyone would like to or should allow a basically unidentified cert to install as that could lead to all sorts of security issues.

Each of our pages, there is an object located on a secure link "https," (live chat buttom on bottom of each pages is locate do https). I suppose you saw a "Security Alert" popup telling you if you want to trust this site. This will not popup on a customer site if that is what you want to know. There is no security issue(s) if you click "Yes." Some of our links is located on a secure link which you have to accept in order to view the object and for whatever information you exchange with us can not be seen by others, only by you. Does that answer your question?

That's why, but on looking at the cert it's not been issued by anyone of the recognised agents for SSL certs - in fact by yourselves, that was the worrying part.

Again it's no attack but with an installed cert it would allow an https pop-up to execute which is in a different security zone for most browsers than a normal one.

Yes this is a self signed certificate from cpanel. We have had no problem using this, but I am still working on getting a valid signed ssl.

Usually shows signed by the issuer though. As in been issued by a recognised provider of SSL certs like Verisign. Axe Hosting are signed Axe Hosting :(

LOL - I think we were posting at the same time [ah] phu

It's more an observation, as I said no harm meant, but it may cost you clients.

For stuff like live chat I don't really think it's worth it unless your taking 'live orders' including CC info or the like - it's one of those trust things we've came across before. You could try ipsCA, you can get a 6 month free cert till you get sorted out and their on the trusted list - http://certs.ipsca.com just go through the process to buy but pick the free cert and even though it's like a billing form you have to provide no payment info and you get an invoice for zero.

Again apologies for hi-jacking but I hope it helps as, from experience we've lost more than one client through things we though were fine but they didn't :-)

Yes I appreciate your concern. Valid certificate has been installed. :-)

Ah good, just an in case as so many things can really screw up a host and ruin a load of hard work :)
