Hmm.. What is this world coming to? I have been pretty active on these forums a long time ago and now I come back (9 months) and people are offering $5 for 5 GB Space and 50 GB Bandwidth. Insane and only shows that your company is overselling.
Just throwing in my opinion.

So we all should make prices higher?

Hosting Companies have to make a plan, that is the first step in making a hosting company. Have a plan. A reliable and fast server costs money. Now work with your budget. Say on estimate your paying $150/monthly for your server (fairly decent price)
Now I could collect a lot of info for you but I'll save myself the hassle and give you the basic facts. Now you can only sell the amount of space/bandwidth you have. If you offer too much and you only have this much thats overselling and you can run into problems. Most hosting companies don't make it because of this, they struggle and over so cheap just to get customers and these customers fall for it and then end up getting the boot in the end.
Do your research!
