important question !!

ok i don't know where i have to put this question (in wich section) so i put it in here...

it's about a program i have downloaded. It's called KaZaA
and i downloaded at www.kazaa.com
now i have install it , and i want to register for a username so i can download files and stuff

but everytime i try to register something happens and than the registration will stop, and then a pop-up is showing that there are some problems with the registration and maybe it's because i have a firewall (i don't know i have one LoL) or something....

can you guyz help me? this is the message i get when i want to register but it won't work:

Your KaZaA account was not registered, because the attempt to connect to the server failed. This could be either because you are not connected to the internet, or because the server did not respond. If you are behind a firewall, than that could also be the problem. Please try later.

but i'm connected to the internet because i post this now ! LoL

Where do you access Kazaa from ? If it's at home then a firewall may not affect you but if you are accessing it from your office or school or some other public place there is a 99% chance that a firewall is installed. Ask you system administrator for firewall settings.

A better option is to use Music Morpheus, it's more stable and better and it's integrated with Kazza service so you get to use kazza and music morpheus's database.

Maybe if you post a screenshot of your computer here I may be able to tell you wether you have a firewall or not. But i recommend you install Music Morpheus.

I doubt you have a physical hardware based firewall or else you would know it but do you have any software such as ZoneAlarm, Norton Internet Security, Black ICE Defender, or any of the more common software based "firewalls"?

If so you may want to see if that is blocking your connection. Otherwise it might actually be their registration server that is down.

I don't know the software in question, but if you know what their registration servers address is you could run a traceroute to find out where the problem is.

I've run across that sort of problem at a few other sites... Turned out is was simply a matter of enabling cookies. Try it and see

i've searched for that morpheus
but you have to download Windows Media Player too

and because i don't have somuch space on my hard drive.....

does somebody has other tips?

I am able to run morpheus without windows media player. Maybe i have a different version.
