Hello, I'm new to this, but I also know what I want may be hard to find. I am planning on paying for my webspace, but that's on hold until I find a job...
Good, reliable free host
Ads don't matter to me (if the visitors don't like them, tough)
Doesn't have to be much space, as long as I can sign up for several accounts. If I can't sign up for several accounts, I'd like at least 20MB...
Here's the kicker...MUST let me upload wavs, and wavs only. I don't use mp3's, so I don't have to worry about that....
Any suggestions? Remember, this is only temporary until I can pay for a paid host....

I suppose you could go with a well-known host like Tripod, if it's only for a little while. I don't think they have any restrictions on sound files, but I could be wrong. Anyway, they offer 50mb per account, CGI-Bin, FTP, etc.
But there are many others. If you only want a free host for a limited time, than I guess you could go with just about any host, and hope you get a job before they realize you have violated the TOS. Try a search on this site and put in the requirements that you need, and it'll give you a list of hosts that offer it.

I don't like tripod. They deleted my website some years ago just because i had the word "mp3" somewhere. Now maybe they changed .. i don't know.
I don't think web hosts are so strict with wavs as they are with MP3s, but I would sugest to always have a copy of your website somewhere in your hard drive and use a redirection service like -------- or wzr.net. In this way even if the delete your site you can upload it to some other host with no other problems.

That's good advice Ozy. As long as you have redirection, then if your host closes down (and the free ones often do) then you can simply change where your domain is redirected to and you'll hardly miss a beat. Always have a mirror site, that's what I always say. ;)
