I originally signed up for pt-web.net hosting back on July 27, 2004. They advertised their hosting on freewebspace.net. At that time, they offered 4 different free hosting packages (I believe they reopened package 4 shortly after this thread) http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/showthread.php?t=57389 . You will even see my post complimenting them on their setup time. On the same page you will also see a post asking if any posting was required. The response from PT-WEB.NET was, No "Join us and you will see!" I was granted package #3, 500MB, 10G BW. Posting was not required at the time, though I joined their forum anyway. Once their hosting site became popular, all free accounts were reduced to package 1 (at the time, there was talk in their forum that ALL free accounts might possibly be deleted). Free packages 2, 3, and 4 no longer existed. This was a disappointment. I decided to stay with them anyway. I happened to go to their forum one day, to see that if you had a free account and didn't respond to their forum message, your site would be deleted. I thought this was an odd way to announce this, as many people would probably not see the post. I submitted my response to keep my account.
Well since that time, my site http://2read.org was deleted without an email of warning. If they posted another message on their forum of possible deletion to free accounts unless a forum response was submitted, I missed it. Then again, when I signed up, posting was not required to keep an account. Had I been notified by email, I certainly would have responded.
To those of you who may be questioning the content of my site, it was a site devoted to helping people learn to read. The only reason I can think of that my site was deleted was because I was not an active member of their forum (but according to my agreement when I registered, this was not a requirement).
I thought my experience might help others decide if this is the host for them.

Well, actually when we add a new rule, this rule applies to all active free customers. Since we have decided to move to a new server, moving all free accounts was to expensive. All paid accounts were moved successfully to the new server, but we did request to all free customers to move themselves their accounts to the new server. None of the accounts were deleted, and your account is still on the old server. We started this process in November 2004, so you had plenty of time to read and follow what was happening, and also we are always available to answer your questions and concerns.
As a free customer we expect from you that you read the announcements on our forum and be an active user (at least just come to say hello i have a free account and i am happy).
Please read the following topic to access your old account.

Over to PT-WEB.NET (I'd love to see someone justifying dual processors when they state hyperthreading)
Plus it states only for paid customers only -
For paid customers we have servers on ThePlanet and NAC datacenter.

Yes, only paid customers will have the option to chosse bw ThePlanet and NAC datacenter. Free customers will go to the ThePlanet datacenter
Sorry for the mistake, the free accounts are on a new hyperthreading processor, the previous server was a dual processor.

I actually sent you an email on Monday, November 22, 2004 8:37 AM with my domain name, username, and password as you requested in your forum. I never received a reply, and my account was still deleted (I still have a copy of my email should you need it).
I see package 1 has again been reduced.
From:
Package Free1
Disk Space: 100MB
BW:1500MB
To:
30MB Quota Mega Bytes
500MB Bandwidth Limit

Yes, please send me a copy of that email asap, if it was our mistake, please accept our apologizes.
We have moved to a new server in ThePlanet datacenter, this server is more expensive compare with the old one, so we had to reduce the accounts size, but we will soon raise it to 50MB 1GB. You will see that speed of this server is very very good and we have decided to provide a better service with less space and bw.
Your account was not deleted, it is on the old server and the pt-web.net domain is pointing to the new server.

All the best,
Don't forget to tell them about your crappy services, I got my account deleted after I uploaded 4 mp3's that someone submitted to my forum via email. They gave me no warning whatsoever. And also I was violating none of the rules when this happened. If there's one host NOT to trust. It's pt-web.net

No, we don't delete accounts just for upload mp3 or whatever.
Yes, you did violate our rule 4 - You have 15 days to upload your website.
