Dear iwod,

To me they look reliable and legitmate, the feature for the solo card is really a +.

Hi,

The owner of Supanames hangs out at http://www.futureforums.co.uk (http://www.netmag.co.uk). The price is good but i've even asked banarby the owner why he states Unlimited bandwidth for his hosting packages, He said that it was because he bought bandwidth so cheap from his provider. I'm guessing they are located at telehouse and thats why they get bandwidth so cheap. They have had a lot of rave reviews but have also had a lot of negative reviews. Personally i wouldn't use Supanames because of the claims for unlimited bandwidth but it's cheap and the domain is registered for 2 years and its easy to transfer the .co.uk domains out from supanames if something goes wrong.

A few other uk hosts that accept solo cards that are cheap are -

http://www.netweaver.com - I use these for domain regisration, But http://www.bigbytes.co.uk is hosted with them and the owner les is very picky about who he chooses to host his website. So that must mean they are good :) ... they have 5 servers located at telehouse which i think makes them quiet big.

http://www.ghoulnet.com - use them to host http://www.ft3.co.uk . FTP is fast and so is there network. Support over the phone is very helpful however email support takes about 48 hours.

http://www.easily.co.uk - PayAsYouGo Webhosting thats supposed to be really good and they are as cheap as Supanames but do impose data transfer limits.

http://www.blackcatnetworks.co.uk/ - Poor designed site but have been around a few years and have good uptime and fast technical support.

Oh yeah i forgot -

http://www.openhosting.co.uk - accept solo cards and have upgraded there hosting plans but still kept them cheap. Adam and mark provide excellent support.

http://www.simple-internet.net - Well born after WebNetics went bust have similar packages to what WebNetics provided and use cpanel based servers now instead of the cobalt RAQ's.

Solo card is a uk debit card. Only given to students or unemployed people who open a bank account. Allows you todo transactions like a visa card but you can't go over drawn withit.

Technics,
Thanks for the address http://www.bigbytes.co.uk . Because it is the site that i have been looking for, which is a UK paid host only site.

As easily.com, i don't think they are that cheap now... £35 a year compared to £13 a year a quite a different.... expecailly for me as a oversea student.

Really i just need a site to test out my web page first b4 i put it up on to the web. That is why i need to the cheapest hosting avalible. Because some of the scripts i used need MYSQL and php and i can't get php and mysql to function on my computer. Therefore i need to upload them and test them.

Thanks for you support anyway.

Then Supanames would be ideal if your only using it for testing your site. I'm thinking of giving them a go myself just to see whether Barnaby can live upto what he told me :)
