call me ignorant but where do you start to generate a little extra cash? is it necessary to have your own domain? how can you even get one with no credit card? what affiliate programs or whatever are even worth the time and effort? i wish there was info on stepping a person through to be able to do that. it's starting to seem like you have to spend about 40 hours per day (though there's only 24 to work with) just to be able to earn more than $1000 per month. its all looking like a bunch of scamming and hooplah to me. should i give up before i even try? just call me confused... :confused4

how about mine...sites in my sig,its relativly new and its been up for about a month and has got 2K hits on it (1963) been looking for ads and keep getting :shame: from advertising companies after i try to submit my site for ads, is there a start off ad company or something that I can use while my hits improve without the need of a credit card...before anyone mentions it fastclick turned me down :cry2:

@beyastard: it is true that you have to work more hours than there are in a day to start off with but as time goes by you need to work less and less. My site took about 1 week of constant work fixing errors, and there still are some minor ones now :rolleyes2: but now i only spend 3hours max on it a day, its worth the work cause its a life experience in a way....but then, im crazy :tongue2:

timmy, theres a difference between hit, visit and unique
a hit is a request for a file on your website, so if you have and html page with 5 images, it would count as 6 hits

Try www.searchfeed.com
This is not a recommendation as I only started using them on a site a couple of days ago, but they do pay into your paypal account.

You will need to work really hard to get visitors and also have the content that make them stay. In addition to advertising networks, you can have direct advertisers who advertise on your website for fees. The scene is quite competitive, though. There's much less advertisers than websites seeking advertising revenue.

first of all dont worry about hits or unique hits, worry about page views since thats what the ads will be depending on.

even if you have only 200 unique hits a month, but those 200 people view the pages say 100,000 per month then thats even better then having say 50,000 unique visitors monthly.

Personnaly, i just use google ads. All other ad revenue programs are crap.

untrue superhoster.
most companies put a cap of 1-2-3 adviews per ip per 24hours, so all those pageviews from 200 uniques would do nothing. You NEED uniques.

Yep, Wojtek is right. I haven't seen too many networks offering CPM banners on a non-unique basis. I have seen a few popup programs that pay like that, but who wants popups.

I have to agree with superhoster on GoogleAds however, you will get a much better CPM rate than the banner networks, aslong as you get clicks.

And it depends on the type of clicks you get. Clicks that fetch a few cents are not worth that much and won't help that much unless you are getting a lot of clicks.
