I was curious if everybody that posts here looking for webspace ends up getting offers by personal email??


I just started getting suspicious when the party offering the services starts bargaining prices. i.e. $10..next $5.... Like how big are they do be able to do such?



I had my experience with TacidBlue/TacidHost and getting very hesitant over forking out money to places not established and known. My bank is getting sick of me as I'm always changing card #'s because it was given to some place that I lost my money to. (not just web space...internet rip-offs)


I try to assume anybody can collect money and claim problems problems and then disappear.If your local store went bankrupt your out of luck.


As to email I have no complaints and not complaining but curious about it. For example if you post in a newsgroup-----an example...I'm in Connecticut.Land of Lyme Disease.I got bitten last summer and naturally I had questions.I post in some 'lyme disease' newsgroup and till this day I have thousands of wonderful friends who are trying to sell me quake(sp?) formulas and cures.

Hmm, i never offer anyone here anything via email, only if the ask for it. I think it gives an bad reputation for an host to go around email people to sell accounts, i consider this SPAM. But if an host does it is best to search for information regarding the host first, before purchasing.

I know I've never emailed a list of individuals that post on here. I think kind of defeats the purpose of the message board. And I've posted stuff and never receaved unsolicited emails.

Hosts are not allowed to use this forum to advertise their services unless the user has specifically requested quotes from hosts.

If the advertisement was sent from a host on the forum without permission we'll take it up then. If it was sent by a host that doesn't use this forum for anything other then soliciting business I'll see if we can run a check for their company name and URL and filter it out so those messages don't go through.

Has anyone else received messages like this?
