are there any services like this and that have ftp and not too slow, cgi-bin /perl would be nice too, not too much space needed

well what sites hosts domains free with ads? i'm not talking about them paying for the domain by the way

well you could try netfirms.com they have cgi, but they also have a banner.

i don't know of any ad-free domain hosts other than portland, but stay away from them for your own good

Also you cn NEVER use your own DNS setting with a free domain. So you don't really need domainhosting.

It's www.hebergement-gratuit.com, a French server.

Only 1 Meg but well, you can src your images from anywhere else...

I'm using it for www.congoweb.org

(For the domain I'm using www.gandi.net, a cheap one, too).
