You have to register to chat? That sucks.

Also, a CGI chat will take up a ton of server resources, so I would watch out.

People do not use chatrooms much???? Where the heck you been looking? I run/co-own a chatsite that has over 700 members and weve not done one bit of advertising except submit to the big search engines.

CGI-Chats like e_chat use very little resources. We can have over 60 people logged into our chatroom and use less than 0.12 % of system resources. I do think donhost will shut down yuppas chat because the chatroom he is using uses 0.5% of system resources per chatter and thats far too much.

no it's not free but its worth $24.95 .... www.e-scripts.com .... theres a free version that you could get users to make add-ons for at www.everysoft.com/everchat/

I'd rather have an IRC chat, they work so much better. And you don't need to have the browser reload the page after someone says something. To make IRC usable on a browser, just use a java client.

Get me a linux shell account where I can have the privledges(sp) to install it and I will. I need lifetime access to the shell though :)
