I figure it's about time we have a good old fashioned debate again, and theology is a good topic to discuss, right?

I don't know what about 99.9% of you all here think or believe about religion. Personally I believe in God, but like anyone I have my doubts and times when I wonder exactly what is going on in our universe. And admittedly I don't attend church regularly or anything like that. I'm not about to hammer my beliefs into somebody else.

For the most part, I don't have much appreciation for organised religion. I figure that, on the whole, each person can individually show faith by being a good person. Everyone - I hope :p - has a sense of right or wrong. We all know when we're being rotten and when we're being decent human beings. I don't think that anybody should be criticised or looked at differently for being a Christian or a Buddhist or anything else. I mean, what kind of a representative are you for your beliefs if you go around hating, right?

I guess mainly I am interested in everyone's ideas.. What you believe, what you think, what you wonder about? I think everyone has questions about this topic, and it would be great if we could get a proper discussion happening :).

Yeah, we originally had a foreword by Charlton Heston, but the book was long enough as it was, so we cut it.

I think we all got over religious issues with the Christian-Spam...

Argh, don't get me started on religion. Other day my mum barges in and simply yells 'You're going to church with us from now on' -- when I never do, I wake up an hour after they come back.

I refuse to be forced into religion -- after attenting religious schools up until 2003. I've come to the decision that I have no faith. No faith in anything. Even though I may have said I do, I don't anymore.

Morality and law spawned from the Judao-Christian tradition, so it's not entirely a bad thing, but its lost meaning on many many people, and frankly should go away. Same w/Islam, Christianity, Judaism, and any other religion whose fundamentalists are nothing but society's worst.

I hate those religions that decide that you can only have sex after marriage... sex is something you have when the time is right ... not coz some church says you cant till marriage... its silly

I see nothing wrong with it, but it all goes wrong when someone is being pressured into being in a certain religion, if they don't want to have sex before marriage that's fine, just let me do whatever I want.
