I recently looked at a nice flash intro. In this intro, it has a spinning 3D "P." I was wondering if anyone knew what program can create this cool effect. I would like it if it was easy to use, but if the program is difficult to use, I'm willing to learn.
The flash intro can be found at: http://www.coolin.f2s.com/pkflashintro.swf

I doubt it, but it coulda been Swift3d. It's a 3D program that incorporates flash. And btw...where was that letter "P"? I saw a spinning letter "F" and "S" no "P".

I am positive that that is a spinning "F"... or did a little part of the "P" fall off? :D

Ack, yes, it is an "F."
Anyway, does anyone know how to create that? It doesn't have to be in flash (although that would be preferable), any program would do.

It's also $139. And we aren't even sure it works yet.

I know how Swift3D works, and I have it. And trust me, it is going to be the worst purchase you have ever made over the internet and the worst software you have purchased for $149, or whatever it is.
I downloaded it and found it was slow and didn't do the job properly, so I deleted it. Then I stumbled across a something little better called Vecta3D. OMG!, it was a dream, it did everything i could think of and more. Anyways, got to go, if you want me to follow up on this post, keep posting cuz it will notify me thru email....

theres a way to import 3dmax files into flash
I think thats probably how they did it seeing how its a flash intro
I have never imported 3d stuff into flash so I dunno how but I remember reading about it

Umm, don't say anything unless you have tried it before. The only way to get 3dsmax files to work with flash is to use swift (ewe) or vecta3d.

Just wondering, how is Swift3D "slow"?

On my computer, which is a very fast p3, it's rendering engine which outputs to the flash file is extremely slow because it has to render rays and all of the other BS which goes with 3d. Vecta3d renders WAY faster, plus it looks nicer.

From what I see, Vecta3D needs a 3DsMax file or an Illustrator file to import... No drawing tools or anything.
Do I have to get those programs now?

Actually, to correct you, Swift3d Standalone Version (the one i have) needs a 3dsmax (.3ds) file, which has been already made, in order to render into flash.
On the other hand, Vecta3D needs 3dsmax the program in order to run, just like you would render a video in 3dsmax.

Geez. What's the use of a standalone version when it requires another program?

Sometimes I actually wonder that too. I guess they made it as a test program to see if users liked it or not, and then made it work with 3dsmax, softimage, and lightwave.
