It is good for a first time, but you need to refine your skills more. The text looks cluttered, perhaps from the high bevel .. try 0 or 1 .. it's more discreet. So far is very very simplistic and this kind of layouts have been used to death .. but, you seem to go quite nicely in Photoshop (I assume that's what you've worked with) and I can see you'll be able to do more spactacular things.
Don't get discouraged .. work even more and don't be afraid to experiment. ;)

It's not bad, but the yellow and black lines can be quite distracting. Tone them down and bring the bikes more into attention. Increase their size and make sure they are bright enough to be seen.

my personnal oppinion is that your dad's friend should hire a designer if he wants a website
dont make your debuts on a commercial website, it'll hurt his business
make sites of your own. blog? hobby? whatever and practise on that

I'm with Wojtek, you have the potential of great work in you, but don't go doing commercial sites just yet. It takes a few personal sites to get up to a professional standard.
Keep at it, you will be a star.

i like the bike site, try dimming the yellow lines in the back of the header and make the bikes on both sides brighter.
