Since VDI annouced the Cpanel3 / Webhostmanager release we have been getting various comments.

One of the most common comment is that it will cause too much competition. Should the Cpanel be allowed to all, or raise the price to make it not affordable for the smaller guys. Or does it really matter that that anyone can have it?

If verio came along and got 1000 server licences would it hurt the smaller hosting companies?

http://www.cpanel3.com is going to be the official site for the control panel next week.

Shoot some feedback to let us know what Hosting companies think? This will allow us to determin the best routes for the Future of Control panels.

We think Cpanel3 vs plesk, sphera and webadmin is not a near comparision.

I think it won't create that much competition altho I can only look at it from a hostee's point of view. When choosing my host, I don't look at wheter they offer a control panel or not. I look at the services offered, the business reputation and the support quality.

Sure, it's a nice feature if a host offers a control panel. But do I really need it ? No. Do I make my choice based on the fact that a host offers a control panel ? No.

Just my 2 cents

I think it would be cool if there was a FreeBSD version of Cpanel3 ;) There are lots of options for red hat linux but not many for freebsd

I really don`t think there will be a NT version :(

I don`t even think i know people who want to do it :)

But, if you really like NT, you can put a wig on the server and hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

No pun intended !!

But I`m sure Sphera will have a NT version.
