Usually you use 'SITE CHMOD 755'
WS_FTP LE by Ipswitch.com (available from www.tucows.com) and is free for personal use. This will help you out.

... because F2S doesn't permit it. Read the Perl/CGI FAQ at F2S.com

Where it says 777 - use 755.
The script will still work, but won't when you use 777.
If you want to use 777 use portland :)

portland? AGH!! *gasp* *gasp*
I tried using cgi on that server, but it is soooo slow, to even process a small script. I've got my domain on portland, but I'm using f2s for all my xgi stuff

I think portland is overselling cpu time more than bandwidth. I can ping them with a 20ms reply and I personally find downloads and ftp from them fairly fast (25kb/s +)
But getting a response off their http server can sometimes be rediculous.
