It was difficulties with the language for understanding rules of http://www.host.sk , therefore I can give unofficial translation of ones.

- no ads on user pages
- unlimited space for web, mail and database
- webpage with 2nd level domain (www.user.host.sk & user.host.sk)
- e-mail address (user@host.sk), webmail, imap, pop3
- support of PHP (automatic) & MySQL db (allotted by user request)
- shell account (automatic)
- hitcounter (need another registration)
- webmanager for MySQL administration
- support for interesting non-commercial projects (by DNS hosting and providing Virtual webserver - www.yourdomain.com, net, org, sk, ...)
- ftp access (automatic)
- webinterface for managing user files is in progress...
- own 404 error pages

Everything is for free. Call attention to unlimited space. It doesn’t matter that user can have mp3 archive, movies archive, etc on the server. It’s mean, that if you have big size page, you can have it there. Files, which are illegitimate, will be automatically deleted.

Erotic pages are accepted, but it must satisfy some rules.

Before user can register an account, he must accept registration rules:

1. user can’t make lawless acts on HOST.sk
2. user can’t store on his account warez, illegal porno material, and also other illegal and copyrighted materials
3. if user have erotic materials on his page (photos, videos, text, ...), it is necessary to NOTICE visitors on first page. User must give visitor choice: Enter, or Leave
4. provider can provide users enrolment data and system logs to examining bureau, in case of investigation some lawless cases.
5. if provider finds material opposing rules, he is able to delete it
without any warning
6. all services on HOST.sk are provided without guaranty. If user want guaranteed service, he can order a commercial product of Profinet.sk, a.s.
7. provider can anytime change these rules
8. proceeding registration, user agree with this rules without any
reservations.

Thanks red-zinc for the translation.

I am sure you can have pages in any languages. I have tested, the upload speed is pretty fast. I am on cable and it was about 12-15k/second, but the download speed is terrible!!! Less than 2K. It took 5 seconds to fully open a 1.2K txt file.

I signed up, and so far it's really good! I don't see any problems at all with speed. All I wanted was the space, not the extras like php and mysql...so I'm happy. I think my problem has been solved...after searching for a new fwp for over a week.

you have to email them at (i think) db@host.sk about it. There was some other thread about this....there were instructions there.

why don't these people just come right out and tell us they're pirating software? if you can pay $160 up front, then $30/yr for a vbulletin, but can't pay $5/mo for hosting, something's wrong.

They'll get caught anyway right? Because from what i heard, vBulletin calls home for license info & junk like that. Is that just a myth to scare people, or am i right?

I don't use pirated software in my website. ;( All I have is free junk lol. I use ezboard, although as crappy as that is, I'm too lazy to set up ikonboard. I am using the Ultimate Guestbook, which is really really old (1999) and which is free. So don't accuse me. :(
I wanted unlimited space for my images.

no one accused you of doing anything illegal, with vbulletin or any type of software. maybe you mistook something along the way.

hey men, why don't you try go-build.net??
although there you get "only" 20 megs of space, but you can connect to en external database like freesql.org...
regarding of the speed, it isn't too bad for me...so worthy of a try!

Why are you so uptight about if someone has a pirated version of vbulletin? isnt that "tattle tailing" and shouldnt it have ended at around age 7? I had i pirated version of vbulletin on my old chrissite website for around 5 months until it started getting popular (me and a buddy split the costs, then i lost my domain name around a week later. thats karma for ya :)) i still have my registered version for my new website im setting up so i guess its not so bad, although i lost a few months before renewal.

Can anyone translate this?

ako posielat maily z .php na host.sk ???

1. je potrebne do svojho scriptu vlozit nasledovnu cast kodu:
<?php
require("class.smtp.php");
$smtp=new smtp();
$smtp->host_name = "creon.profinet.sk";
$smtp->localhost = "host.sk";
// nemozeme zarucit funkcnost, pokial
// zmenite hodnoty uvedene nad touto poznamkou

$from = "niekto@host.sk";
$to = "niekto@host.sk";
$subject = "testicek";
$text = "nieco";

$smtp->SendMessage( $from, array( $to ), array( "From: $from", "To: $to", "Subject: $subject" ), $text );
?>

If someone has already translated this, i am sorry for taking up the space but... could you kindly show me the page if it is explained already, if not can any kind soul explain it?

I can fairly understand the script part, but the rest... not too sure can someone please enlighten me.

Thanks alot,

If you want to send mails via your scripts (for example with a mailform), then you have to use this code instead of mail function. You need a file "class.smtp.php.zip" also, you can download it from
http://www.host.sk/class.smtp.php.zip address.

Of course you can change these lines what you like:

$from = "niekto@host.sk";
$to = "niekto@host.sk";
$subject = "testicek";
$text = "nieco";
