Forum traffic?

I am searching for a way to get visitors to my forum, I get no profit out of it at all, I just want members.
Does anybody know of a free way to get traffic to my forum? :confused4

But most forums aren't that friendly towards advertising another forum, I guess they feel used.
You get called a spammer and things like that.
Could anybody post a list of big forums that don't mind if you advertise another forum?

If there is any other kind of trade or something I am all ears but I really have no money to put into it and I am not in it to make any money either, its just like a hobby.

Um, I would offer you a link exchange on my site, but your content isn't really matching. Try adding yourself to toplists, and have a special section on your site where people can only access once they vote for you, then you'll go up the toplist.
