To the person who owned a hosting company and signed up intentionally to use over 50 GB of bandwidth per day, please do not abuse another new web hosting business.

Was that you Evilhaze? LOL. :D :D :D :D

Heh, I knew someone would say that as well, I might as well leave the hosting industry and become a psychic! (joking!!!). And to answer your question, nope, it wasnt me. I cant even transfer more than 3 gb of data per month through my ISP :/. I would like to know who it was tho, so I can thank them for there assistance in eradicating yet another "Unlimited" host. Come Forth and Be Knighted!

Actually that is just mean, abusing the unlimited system like that.

Its Karma, and its not abusing, its using. If they cant provide unlimited they should not be displaying unlimited. Period.

This service was never a scam or a fraud! All of your payment database has been deleted. This means that you won't be charged next year.

I take it that their customers paid by the year, another bad thing,
but not as bad as unlimited lies, even the 99.9% uptime lie.

Ok can 9kd.net explain what is going to happen with their customers, I presume, by this statement that the customers will not get refunded. What about customer who just signed up?

We're very sorry for this. We hoped it did not have to come to this, but we have lost all the money and are still losing money now.

Lost all the money? Where did you lose it? Hide it under a bed and forgot which one?

Also, blame someone of using to much unlimited? How can you use to much unlimited? Host or no host doing it.

It burns me up when people and companies take advanage of innocent customers like this. It also burns me that companies offer something they can't provide. As a marketing ploy.

I am in the market to start a Budget Web host guild, such as the Web Host Guild at whg.org, but not as closed as they are, budget web host can provide just as good or better service than these guys with regard to value added services.

The guild I have in mind would verify budget web host. No board of directors, a open vote by all members.

All members would have the groups seal on their site, hyperlinked to a "This host is certified" page. A place for a customers to submit a complaint against a member or praise.
Maybe even a vote star rank like ispcheck.com has.

I would like to see this more like the WHG, there are no ads there, but it is run by the top dogs in the hosting world, they don't let just anyone in, and like ispcheck.com, but without all the ads.

Every web host has a shot, but there would be some terms to be recommended as a member.

Let me know what you think and if any of you would be interested in something like this, or if you have any ideas or terms that you would like to see in a project like this. My email is in my profile.

PS

I am anti unlimited also.

No not by every one, but there are host that proclaim this and it is not true. They even Guarantee 99.9% uptime.

If you are a host that is 99.9 up that is great and it is very important that you are down as little as possible.

I don't feel comfortable giving a guarantee that I have no control over, because I am co-located, I have no control over the backbones, which have their problems at times and my service provider, but I can say that I have been up 98%

I do however subscribe to InternetSeer.com I wish that they would have year to date reports as well as a link so customers can get to that report. This would be great for host.

A host should not generate their own uptime reports. Room for false reporting.

Either way, this is nothing compared to unlimited space and bandwidth.

Wow, sounds great! But you might have a better chance if you were to provide the service free, and dont put any ads up. On top of that, go with a really expensive service provider that will charge your through the roof. Make sure they have at least a 25% up time, 26 if your feeling randy.

You know..like someone mentioned above, I think they are making it up about someone using 50GB of bandwidth and causing them to have to close down. Instead of being honest and saying "damn we were wrong, offering unlimited is impossible" they just went ahead and made up a small story and said "see! It's not OUR fault, we were doing it just fine! Because someone wanted to abuse our services, that is why we have to close".

Oh well.. 1 less company.

Is this really something to be proud about Yupapa? If I were you I would find another host, and not brag about your current one :P
