Getting your own server YUPAPA? Maybe www.efreeservers.com is good. Good bandwidth prices. But You'll need to stay open for at least 20 months. If you need any help with your server, I can help. Pretty good at setting up PHP and Apache on a machine.

Howcome all of them are $0.00
They are free??
Bruce

You only have to pay for the bandwidth, which would end up costing at least a few hundred every month.

ah!
I see... is 1USD/GIG/month right?
Bruce
June 27th, 2001, 19:59
Actually the bandwidth is $1.50/gig which is still really cheap, but you have to buy at least 200 gigs.

if you want something quality, go with a freebsd server at rackspace.com but theyre a bit pricey. weve had a server at skynetweb.com for a while and theyve been great.

I suggest you STOP, do not order anything until you have thought about this for a second and gain some knowledge about the subject. This isn't like buying a pack of pencils at K-Mart.
Rackspace offers fully managed solutions, they aren't the only ones. You should explore this or at least do some reading or ??? Yikes...

True the admin interfaces help, but only while everything is going right. If you (not *you*) don't understand some basic things about servers and the system in general then it is only a matter of time...

Yes your right there chicken! i'd reccomend yupapa, to read up on linux and some telnet commands. Control panel's sometimes don't activate things rightly like perl, you would have to do that via telnet, also root access etc...
P.S why isn't hosthideout up chicken?

Webreseller.net is fine I guess but they are sometime slow in support this is maybe because they don't have many technicians in there NOC.
And anyone knows which server they use Dell, IBM or Compaq.
Are they on oc48 or on Multiple T3 lines.
If they have there own NOC then why there own site is on alabanza.
Valuablehost

Dear Jolly,
They have there own noc, the main site is only with alabanza for some unknown reason. I can provide you pictures of the noc if you want, do an traceroute to my site or ip. It will go thru yipes, www.yipes.com.

Valuablehost can help me to setup if I do not know how to run that damn thing!
Where can I get those books to help me to setup?

New is OK. Nothing wrong with that, just don't jump into something that you wouldn't have a clue about. People have recommended RedHat Linux Unleased before, though I don't have it, it is one of those I keep meanig to pick up.

Oops, was a mistake. ICQ plus the hideout make me a bit nuts, I don't multitask well. :D
