hi, I am a novice to php. However, I would like to learn it. So, firstly, I went to download it from www.php.net

can anyone tell me where I can find an automatic installer for it? The version is 4.06

You might wanna get www.mysql.com too. Could come in handy! Are you using apache?

If your planing on running a server on your computer, I suggest PHPTraids, its pretty good for a novice, It comes with PHP, i think perl, and I think MySQL, and Apache. Its pretty good. Theres always others. The only place I remeber you can get it is at cnet.com under dowloads/servers.

PHPtriad will install apache, php, and mysql on windows for you http://sourceforge.net/projects/phptriad/
