So you want to host your free host on a free host.. Why not refer them to your free host?

that is a pretty dumb idea...

I'm not sure what the F2s Terms of Service say about this, so check them first. I saw a free host running off a F2s account recently; you could try setting up a free host script on a F2s account if that complies with their TOS.

Nice I will upload some warez to your fwp host running of a fwp and your master account will get deleted if the actual host spots it 'hidden' in your account :p
Well no I won't - but what's to say someone else wont?

oh yes it is. why can't these people just go and sign up on the free host and use all the features they want, not just the ones you want them too? what's stopping them? are you somehow going to hide the location of the actual host?

the only reason i would image that someone would sign up under you is if you were fast/free and banner free and you had a very good graffical editor people could use to edit their pages. (unlikely though)

This must be one of the most screwed-up ideas I have ever read!
Ummm, why would people use your free host when they can just use your parent service?

I already had someone over IM try to convince me that he would create a successful FWP on 4office.net. I asked him what he would do if they said he couldn't do that anymore and he said he would go to freededicatedservers.com :D
I wonder if the FWP NC_Tom mentioned was Lex's unlimited host? :)

1) why would people want to sign up 4 my host and not the main host?
thats the risk of building a host or any other type of business on the internet, wjats to say that yahoo dont get anymore searches because everyone has decided to use excite? thats life.
2) how can i give people anything different to what the host already has?
well a completely different services, i can give customers my help and i would have full admin control over what they do. i can adjust my site if they give me an idea. anything thats related to building a website that offers a service to the public.
it may sound like a far fetched plan now, but thats probably what the owners of fortunecity, geocities and most of the other thousands of hosts on the internet.

Beanmaster,
Ive already done what you wish to do. Go for it.
I started a free host ON a free host and as well as getting around 30 signups, I also got e-mails saying how good the service was. Why? Well, because the original free host didnt have:
Telephone support
Message forums
Online member communities
Special member offers
Lots more
Im now co-branding with CommunityArchitect and if I get enough interest from my members for paid hosting, I may go dedicated one day.
Go for it, and let me know your URL!!

Laugh all you like, I used F2S.
:)
I took a service and repackaged it in a nice shiny new website, with better support and member interactivity.
F2S were fine with it when I asked them, plus the fact that I wasnt profiting from it in any way made it all legal..!

F2S offers 20mbs, and a previous post you said you had 30 signups, if I do my math correctly, thats roughly about 650k of space for each user. Who in hell would signup for that when the true url of the host is staring them in the face?

You might wanna use host.sk, it has unlimited space and PHP+no ads.

Yes, UK+ was me.
I actually offered 500Kb per account.
You are quite right to question why people signed up for the service, but people did, and im hardly going to complain or question my customers motives, what kind of service would i be running?!?!

JTEMedia, why the hell are you running a free host on another free host? Now on Liquid2k... what the hell are you doing?

Dont worry folks, we've sorted this one out.
Your free websites will be hosted on the NORTHSKY servers, not liquid2k.

you shouldn't bring all your amazing features to our attention when thousands of other people are cobranded with community architect and offer the exact same things.
