Hi,
I just signed up for the 5 GB Inbox and 2 GB WebDisc (file storage) at http://mail.dimensionet.com
I tried to upload a 3mb file to the webdisc, and it never gets uploaded... Smaller files upload fine, but I'm wondering what am I supposed to do with 2GB of storage which is limited at ~2-3MB per file?
I know it's free and all, and I appreciate it, but doesnt that file limit seem a bit low? Did anyone else try it?
BTW, the mail works okay, but it shows 2048 MB as my inbox size. (still a lot, but not 5 gb) is this a mistake?
Thanks,
techtvfan

soapbath,
The file still won't upload properly. The browser finishes the upload, refreshes the page, but the file is not there, and the used up space does not decrease - like nothing happened. I appreciate your help in trying to solve this, and I'll wait patiently :)
Ive used the coupon code, now I should be able to send larger attachments (need to try). I really like the webdisc option and I've been looking for a free one for AGES now, so I'd like to be able to use it - if possible, without size limits.
As for the inbox size, thanks for clarifying that - might I suggest that it is written on the main page...so that new users will know.
Another question - sending SMS messages through my account. I understand that it is limited by 'credits', my question is, how do i get more?
Thank you for your time,
techtvfan
*edit* tried uploading the file as an attachment, and it showed up as 0KB. Oh well! *edit*

SMS will be upgraded soon, once I get some money to buy more in gateway credits you shall get more. I hope you understand I can not lose to much money ;)>
I will write about the 5GB thing. And I am trying to fix it now, I really can't work out the problem. Thanks for waiting.

I also need to now the file size limit (It is reasonable that if you are giving 5GB, the attachments should be a reasonable size of at least 10MB). I tried sending an attachment, and I couldn't. The page refreshes, the name of the file appears and next to it, it says 0KB. On top, the following error can be seen:
Warning: filesize(): Stat failed for temp/ATTACH.11155297165511.TMP (errno=2 - No such file or directory) in /usr/home/box/public_html/compose.php on line 154

We have made a new option: Login to your account and then you can create a folder in webdisk, then share it! Then all files in that folder can be ownloaded everywhere.
For Example:

You guys are doing great.
By the way, I noticed there's a new poll on the site, asking whether people are willing to donate to the service. I was wondering how can I donate? (paypal, etc?)
Also, a few days ago there was a notice on the main page about server upgrades...how are things going there? Have you made any progress on fixing the size issue...?
Thanks,
techtvfan :cool2:

It means the problem is based arounc certain ISP's, mine can upload a 30MB file with no problem, AOL UK can have 15MB ect, I just need to sort that out.

May 14th, 2005, 07:43
I thought it was an issue of files expiring after a certain period of time (and users with higher upload speeds can upload more).
As for my location, I'm not in the UK. I'm on a 3mbps/128kbps dsl connection.
Thanks,

Hi,
Just so people know Bgxmail is fully operational and relaibility is around 99.8% at the moment although I know Gmail operates at 100% for a search engine indepdent service and such like, I don't think the service can be beaten much in any way with the option of accessing the account through pop/imap.

I've problem using WebDisk too! But my problem is different from others here and not being discussed so I figure that I'd better bring it up:
Whenever I try to upload a file regardless of file size or extension, a dialogue box will pops up (twice) saying that "Traffic limit for this action exceed."
I wonder what happened to my WebDisk?? Thank you.

Priority: Normal
Attachments: None
When reading mail, the Priority: Normal field at the top the word Normal is slightly tabbed to the right, maybe you wanna correct it to make this a perfect e-mail service. ;)
By the way, are we allowed to change From: e-ail? Thank you! :-)

Greetings dimensionet mail users,
I have found a temporary fix for the size limit problem (the one where uploaded files don't show up). If you have encountered this issue, please read on.
To store a file in your webdisk and/or inbox if you can't do so the normal way, send the file from a different e-mail account (reccommended ones are www.mail2world.com (10MB size limit) and www.hriders.com (Seems to be down for upgrades at the moment). After sending the file, the message should appear in your inbox. You should then be able to download the attachment directly from the actual message, or store it in your webdisk if you wish. To store the attachment in your webdisk, *Right Click* on it in the message (works only in Internet Explorer?), then select "save in webdisk".
Hope this helps!
techtvfan
P.S: soapbath, if you read this, I just wanted to say thank you for the increased inbox size. Also, are you still working on fixing the upload problem? -if so you could temporarily post this fix on your site so that other users will know. Thanks!

I've opened an account at dimesionet last week and I'm having problems with my webdisk too. I've tried uploading my files to webdisk, but instead after uploading them it redirects me to webdisk again, without the file uploaded. I've also tried attaching my files by e-mailing them to myself from my account, but I get the "page cannot be displayed" error. Finally, I tried techtvfan's suggestion by sending my files from a different e-mail address, but my e-mail service won't attach more than 10mb worth of files onto an e-mail.
Soapbath, are you still working on a solution to uploading a file on the webdisk page without a size limit? If so, when can we expect for this problem to be fixed?
Thank You.

elyk,
Your e-mail provider (like most others) limits attachment size to 10MB. If you sign up with a free provider who does not limit attachments (read the post above yours... - www.hriders.com) then you shouldn't have a problem.
Hope this helps,

I'm having problems with hriders. I sent a file under 10MB to my dimension account and one to my gmail account that I had. When I opened my dimension account I didn't find anything in my inbox, but when I went to my gmail account I saw the e-mail, attachment, everything. Another thing I've noticed is that hriders must have a limit because I tried to attach another file that was over 10MB and it just redirected me back without the attachment uploaded. It seems that whenever I send an e-mail with an attachment to my dimension account, it never gets into the inbox. I wonder what's going on?!

Strange that you are having problems...I just attached a 15 mb file to test with no problems.
Then again, their page said that they were 'temporarily down for upgrades' a few days ago...so you never know.

Hi Soapbath,
I don't know if you already checked this but it sounds like you're using PHP for uploading, make sure you increase the size in your php config file on your server to allow for this. Also increasing the time-outs may help with people not being able to upload larger files.
