How to monitor bw usage of a site?

Hi.

Is there anyway for me to see how much bw a site uses?
I don't hav any cpanel usernames/pwd's so i can't use cpanel.
Let me explain a bit more.

Theres a chance that i might take this site over, but first i'm doing some research.
I want to make sure that i can pay for its hosting (unlike the webmaster at the moment), but i have no clue as to how much space and bw the site uses (webmaster won't say anything untill i pay him).
So, is there a service that'l let me do this?
Any help would be gr8.

You could go here and check www.alexa.com and see how many millions of hits the site gets and maybe that will give you an idea of if its consuming a lot or not. Just an idea, I dont know if it would work.

It has been my personal experiance that if someone isn't willing to divulge everything about their business to you until you pay them then it is normally a good idea to stay way clear of them. I mean if their is nothing wrong with the site and it makes good money then the webmaster of it currently should have no problem answering any questions that you might have.

I'm just going to look at that site.

The curant webmaster couldn't pay for hosting which made me think that it was using lodes of bw, spose he could just be short on money though.

You could try finding a host with unlimited bandwidth. I could find one for you for about $25 a month or less. I think there is one for $25. It's reseller aswell ;).

That is inaccurate. Alexa bases their ratings only on users surfing with their toolbar. Of course, not everyone has a toolbar from Alexa so it is very inaccurate.

If you dont have access to the site and the owner wont tell you, then I think you are out of luck. If he wont tell you, I suggest you look for something else to invest your money in. The person selling sounds very shady and I would not buy something I know nothing about.
