Dipset June 14th, 2005, 18:13 how long do they stay in ur server?
Mr. Brightside June 14th, 2005, 23:09 as advice stop this. People will abuse the service with illegal mp3s and your service will be shut down.
Dipset June 14th, 2005, 23:50 as advice stop this. People will abuse the service with illegal mp3s and your service will be shut down.
no it wont, people so it all the time with usendit and rapidshare, if they would shut em down, they would be down by now
Makaveli June 15th, 2005, 07:44 Lol and how many users use it for legal mp3s?, 1% if that.
ZooR.Net June 15th, 2005, 09:11 there is no ads on our pages
fat chance you will stick aruond too long then! when people actually start uploading mp3's on your site you will need more than 1 server! where will the funding come from? Donations? stongly doubt you get that much!
+ the server the site is hosted on hosts 203 other sites also! can it remain fast and reliable? or do you use a reseller account? :confused4
Makaveli June 15th, 2005, 10:25 You should put up some ads least you will get some income from it. oldman2
MP3Host June 16th, 2005, 17:22 nice idea,
some google adsense ads will do :D
djtheropy June 16th, 2005, 17:47 make the ads blend in with the site, just below the logo is probally the best place.
Mr. Brightside June 17th, 2005, 02:25 you're sites down...suprised?
If its downtime i'm sorry for being rude...but otherwise...I told you so
Makaveli June 17th, 2005, 13:38 It's back up now.
Knuckles500 June 17th, 2005, 16:08 *sigh* I hate these greifers, looking at the negative side of each service they "comment" on.
How about we all enjoy it instead of -----ing about it? Who knows? Maybe people like you are the reason why these services are running out of feedback.
In other words, be thankful what you are given. You have no right to complain about something that isn't your service. If you think you're so smart, start a service where I can load all the illegal content I want with unlimited space and bandwidth.
...but yeah, this isn't going to last long. But oh well, RapidShare/UploadBucket aren't going to last forever either.
(Bashed by people with 1st grade spelling, yeah, no one can never drop the fact that they're wrong about 1 thing.)
Come and get me, like i'll read all the flames, it'll only brake the rules on this message board. Like anyone cares what happens to your account after your banned. :tired2:
----------------------------------
Ontopic:
It's pretty fast, not exactly what most people will be looking to host. It's not really going to last long, so enjoy it while you can.
Four and a half stars, it just needs to promise that it'll actually try and stay online for more than a year. Other than that, no flaws exept the fact you can upload things you're not supposed to share.
|G| June 17th, 2005, 16:24 nice uploading script it would be nice if you left the credit to the person that made it
http://celerondude.com/
just a thought
Yellowmc June 19th, 2005, 13:12 No you need to shutup. He is saying something which has a very high chance of becoming true. People will use it for illegal MP3 files and you wont be able to control it ( atleast not sufficiently enough ) and then you will get into legal trouble.
But hey. If you feel you can do it, by all means go ahead. I like the service too.
dndiscuss June 19th, 2005, 14:42 Shut up u dikhead
Should we assume you have links with the owner?
Cangiz June 19th, 2005, 15:13 First of all if you wish to continue this site, make a terms a service document saying no uploading illegal ----, then that should get you out of some trouble.
Mr. Brightside June 30th, 2005, 02:10 just make sure you're not the one taking the fall
y04chs067 July 4th, 2005, 00:37 yea,and we are juz giving advise
Becca July 4th, 2005, 03:28 He does specify that he doesn't want anything illegal to be uploaded. It says so in the FAQ:
What files are not allowed to be uploaded?
Any of these files are not allowed to be uploaded and if they are found on our server, we will remove them without any prior warning: Files that contain copyright protected materials, warez, cracks, serial numbers, harmful codes, worms, trojan horses (and their associated utilities/files/scripts), piracy related information/materials. Therefore, only upload files that does not violate any laws!
They are also upgrading at the moment (and asking for beta testers). You can see this on their main page:
MP3Host.Info Site is currently upgrading to 30MB file upload. This change will take place from today, so please do keep a backup of your important files on your hard drive.
Once we have upgraded, you will be required to Re-Register again and upload your files. This is because we are completely changing our upload system into something advance and more versatile.
R4g1ng July 4th, 2005, 03:37 Well, it looks good. I suggest having a report system if you don't have one already just in case anyone bothers to report illegal stuff being hosted there. It's hard to moderate sites like these because you don't know if the files are illegal until you've checked them out.
Don't offer too much or your service won't last for long.
Good luck!
MP3Host July 12th, 2005, 02:32 Very good advices. This is my first atempt to run a file hosting site and it has been working out good so far.
I suggest having a report system if you don't have one already just in case anyone bothers to report illegal stuff being hosted there.
I have setup a reporting system. Its in the forums :)
Doom2k5 July 12th, 2005, 14:25 Hmm,
Do you allow just .mp3 files or .wav files? It doesn't have to be music right?
I have many types of orgasmic sounds that I made...I really want to upload them.

Thanks for reminding me,
mad_cow11 July 15th, 2005, 11:55 You copied celeron dude's script and removed the copyright. DONT USE THIS PEOPEL HE STOLE.
MP3Host July 15th, 2005, 17:06 Whats with the personal attack "mad_cow11"
I may have removed the copyright notice (Which i put it back now after u informed me) but why exactly are u telling others not to use my site?
I havent stolen anything. The script is free to download and modifiy. I thought that gave me the permission to remove the copyright notice, unfortunetly, no, so i put it back on the footer now.
Could you tell me what exactly that i "Stole" ?
hotvins July 16th, 2005, 01:02 Dude, your site is great

Thank you hotvins, comments such as yours are alwayz most appreciated :biggrin2:
asian_robot July 16th, 2005, 17:14 i'm sad.
your website is down.
i want to use it.
like, now.
MP3Host July 16th, 2005, 18:06 Oh, Its probably because too many (400 - 600 ) people were using at once. Its up now,
I cant wait till google rip me the first cheque,
First thing im doing is moving from from Windows server to Linux, because linux is more stable, so less downtime garanteed.
Secondly, i should be getting even faster connection to the server.
Two things planned, but its all down to the MP3Host member's support tho. So, i'll wait patiently till i cross the 100$ limit with the adsense.
P.s. sorry for the downtime.
hotvins July 17th, 2005, 00:30 Hey, whenever I have uploaded any file I have at least clicked 3 to 4 ads of google.
Guys you should click the ads and support this service since it has a good potential.
Mp3Host bro, you may think that I am just writing that I have clicked but no, I have really clicked the ads. Believing or not is in your descretion :)
Hotvins
MP3Host July 17th, 2005, 03:32 Lolz, Great job, Looks like im going to be getting my linux server soon ;)
whatsinaname July 17th, 2005, 23:14 may I know how much is your check from google?

armorgrief July 18th, 2005, 12:57 oo...all is great...
one thing:Slow download speed:(
Doom2k5 July 18th, 2005, 16:41 Armorgrief, I experienced the same thing!
I tried downloading my orgasmic sex noises after I uploaded them. The download speed is pretty slow. Though, streaming, I can tell you it feels very good.
MP3Host July 18th, 2005, 17:20 Like i said before, im waiting to cross the 100$ limit from google. Then i get paid and from that money, first thing i am going to use the money is to buy a Intel P4 3.0 GHz Combo CPU for very good stability.
Then comes the upgrade on the upload and download speed. Once again, it all depends the support.
