no it wont, people so it all the time with usendit and rapidshare, if they would shut em down, they would be down by now

fat chance you will stick aruond too long then! when people actually start uploading mp3's on your site you will need more than 1 server! where will the funding come from? Donations? stongly doubt you get that much!

+ the server the site is hosted on hosts 203 other sites also! can it remain fast and reliable? or do you use a reseller account? :confused4

It's pretty fast, not exactly what most people will be looking to host. It's not really going to last long, so enjoy it while you can.

Four and a half stars, it just needs to promise that it'll actually try and stay online for more than a year. Other than that, no flaws exept the fact you can upload things you're not supposed to share.

No you need to shutup. He is saying something which has a very high chance of becoming true. People will use it for illegal MP3 files and you wont be able to control it ( atleast not sufficiently enough ) and then you will get into legal trouble.

But hey. If you feel you can do it, by all means go ahead. I like the service too.

First of all if you wish to continue this site, make a terms a service document saying no uploading illegal ----, then that should get you out of some trouble.

He does specify that he doesn't want anything illegal to be uploaded. It says so in the FAQ:

What files are not allowed to be uploaded?
Any of these files are not allowed to be uploaded and if they are found on our server, we will remove them without any prior warning: Files that contain copyright protected materials, warez, cracks, serial numbers, harmful codes, worms, trojan horses (and their associated utilities/files/scripts), piracy related information/materials. Therefore, only upload files that does not violate any laws!


They are also upgrading at the moment (and asking for beta testers). You can see this on their main page:

MP3Host.Info Site is currently upgrading to 30MB file upload. This change will take place from today, so please do keep a backup of your important files on your hard drive.

Once we have upgraded, you will be required to Re-Register again and upload your files. This is because we are completely changing our upload system into something advance and more versatile.

Well, it looks good. I suggest having a report system if you don't have one already just in case anyone bothers to report illegal stuff being hosted there. It's hard to moderate sites like these because you don't know if the files are illegal until you've checked them out.
Don't offer too much or your service won't last for long.

First thing im doing is moving from from Windows server to Linux, because linux is more stable, so less downtime garanteed.

Secondly, i should be getting even faster connection to the server.

Two things planned, but its all down to the MP3Host member's support tho. So, i'll wait patiently till i cross the 100$ limit with the adsense.

Armorgrief, I experienced the same thing!

I tried downloading my orgasmic sex noises after I uploaded them. The download speed is pretty slow. Though, streaming, I can tell you it feels very good.

Like i said before, im waiting to cross the 100$ limit from google. Then i get paid and from that money, first thing i am going to use the money is to buy a Intel P4 3.0 GHz Combo CPU for very good stability.

Then comes the upgrade on the upload and download speed. Once again, it all depends the support.

Hey guys, Good news. Im finally going to get a better dedicater debian server instead of fixing/upgrading the current server with the money i made from google ads.

I can't wait, MP3Host v3 is going to be 100 times faster and a promise of 99.99% Uptime (Site will never go offline like v2).
