jwdx.com - it runs off of php/mysql. The service displays no ads and you have 14 domains to select from.

I recommend them.

last time i checked, only about 3 of those domains had their wildcard pointed at jwdx.com.

i'm not trying to put him down or anything, it's a great service, i just think he should either have them fixed or not list them. i mean, it'd be so easy for me to just start listing domains in the signup are that i didn't own, or didn't work, and say "i've got 50 domains to choose from!".

plus, unless you are on an overloaded server that's doing 5,000 calculations per second, php/mysql isn't noticeably faster than perl at all.

http://www.redirectionguide.wzr.net

zef said his password isn't working to update the dns for redirectionguide.net, and he used ultradns.com, which no longer provides free dns, so....

I tried several redirection services the last few weeks.
The best in my opinion are wzr.net and --------.
Cjb gives you free email to go along with your sub-domain while with wzr you can create sub-domains of your subdomain (or domain).
I think wzr redirects a bit faster than cjb.

FYI, we rewrote a lot of the database code on -------- yesterday (yes, working even on the 4th) and implemented the new code last night, which should greatly improve the speed and reliability of the database. It looks like the limit of the old system was around one million accounts, since that's what we're at now, but the new system should have no problem handling many more.

yes, cjb is most likely faster than wzr. me being on a good server, the difference in clock time is literally unoticeable. but cjb is faster.

plus, right now wzr has almost 800 accounts, cjb obviously has over 1,000,000, so... about the only thing i have on cjb right now is variety of unregistered subdomains [and using your own .com]. but cjb definitely has the best side-services ever offered.

I remember that CJB is NOT accessible from China.
Maybe you don't care about that.

The Chinese government doesn't seem to leave a whole lot available to be accessed from China, so I think this restriction is going to apply with a number of services, including URL redirects, free hosts, and services that put a lot of sites under one IP.

we support multiple languages at http://jwdx.com . I have tested with all latin based charsets and languages and was wondering if any chinese, japanese, or hebew, etc people would test it for me.

Yeah, I'm in china on vacation right now. I can't access crosswinds(which I can never access anyways), spaceports(I can't see their main page but I can use ftp to their site), geocities, tripod, angelfire, etc. Its good that I can still access freehost.nu and 10mbfree.com.

one question:

how come that some site's doesn't get the add from -------- on their frontpage while he is loading?

i always get a pop-up.....but i have 2 site's in my "favorites" that don't get a pop-up while you visit them....

If you turn off stats, you won't get an ad.

Sounds like what happened with centralinfo.net... They decided to stop offering free DNS services, but if you were already with them (like I was) you can continue for free... You just can't change anything.

actually, his password isn't working at totalnic to get the domain off of ultradns, which no longer works for non-upgraded beta accounts.
