heya, long time no see. I have several questions in regard to this host, would be good if someone can help me:

1. Are they a reputable company? How long have they being in business for?
2. Are they managed or unmanaged?
3. If you have being with them before, how's their support service? How's their uptime?
4. What's your overall opinion of this host? Is the price too good to be true?

seems to be really cheap for a dedicated server...

They are using the Savvis data centre, if you need a non-managed server you might
as well go to Layered Technologies, (layeredtech.com) they use Savvis.


From xpressaccess:

Only cPanel Servers are Managed by us. If you order a server without cPanel it is
100% Self Managed by you the Server Owner. On cPanel Server we will fully set it up
for you, do basic securing of the server, We support cPanel only on RH9, RH Fedora &
Centos "ONLY", You can have cPanel on BSD, Debian, etc (if supported by CPanel)
however we will not cover the management if those OS's are chosen.

I'd contact them to clarify what is included in the management, the price seems decent
if managed

xpressaccess.com is reselling LT servers. They added their managed plan to un-managed boxes of LT. We have some boxes there as well, and see 2 times failed hardware, 3-4 network outages (dont remember exactly) within a year. So about the server and network, it should be ok (but I still consider multi-homed connections :) ). You should contact xpressaccess.com to ask more about managed plan. it seems just at the beginning. I dont call that fully managed box, just a basic or semi-managed one. Cannot provide pro-active managed service at that price

thanks for the advice. I have contacted them with the above questions last friday and haven't yet received a response.... not a good sign. However, if they are the resellers of Layeredtech, LT seems to receive quite good reviews from what i have heard

well... if they say their server is managed, but havent answered since last friday, I would stay away. As a customer of a reseller, LT will not answer your question, so dont ask LT about your server. I expect tickets can be answered within 24hours max, even weekend
