I am having a problem with it [MSN Messenger]: Whenever messenger starts my contact list disappears. Has this happened to any of you. Does anyone know why?

Yeah I think their servers got ----ed or something. Anyway MSN sucks. Can I use a non-hotmail id to sign-up with MSN? Will it work? I have seen some people having a non hotmail id as their msn id (i.e. something@someotheremail.com) i'am not sure though.

This software looks cool -> http://www.32bit.com/software/listings/Internet/Chat/_N/25562/
Once MSN Messenger is signed in the character will alert you to how many unread emails you have in your Hotmail inbox and will also list ALL of your contacts currently online. If you want to stop the character at any stage just click it ONCE. Now that the character is on the screen he will just sit and wait for your command or for a chat session to begin. When you enter into a chat with someone the character will tell who is saying what. It will then proceed to read every incoming message to you from all senders

the servers are down again.. they were up last night.. must be some persistent hackers. hehe
if you goto www.passport.com you can sign up for a "passport". I don't use hotmail anymore, so I got a passport account, that I use for my MSN Messenger

Bah! that is the same thing. You can use your passport account to sign-in into hotmail. Try it. I don't want to use any MicroShaft services definetly not passport.
