i have seen almost most of the hosts in the Free Host Offers section have been providing free offers for not more than 1 month . As per the rules that i have read somewhere here , they must be more than 4 months offering ..
Most of the hosts here are just temporary , perhaps for a maximum of 5 months and many much less.
I would like to suggest only webhosts who are more than 5 months old to be allowed to advertise their offers . And this should be made strict , in this way people will like more . :-)

I appreciate your suggestion and I'll think about it. It's hard to know how long a free host has been in business though.

Are you referring to host FAQs? As that hasn't been updated in a while, I hardly think it is applicable. I don't recall seeing a rule that stated hosts should have been operating x amount of time in the general forum. Maybe you can point us to it :)

I see the point that he is tryind to make, its really annoying when a host with great plans like gbmails goes down, although in the case of GBMAILS, it was the users fault for hosting warez.
But, on the other hand, everyone has to start somewhere, if everyone that ran a hosting forum said that hosts that were under 5 months old couldn't post, then the new hosts might shutdown, because they didn't have any customers.
Everyone has to start somewhere.

I think users could just ask how long they've been in business if the host doesn't mention it when they post an offer.
