.ru domains

after my conquest of finally getting a .com.kg domain, ill feel like a challenge to get a .ru domain but have questions- in my view the only way to get a answer }:0)~

i think ive seen a link from

to get a russian domain u have to fill loads of complicated forms and it confuses me

Q1) is this free russian domain a xxx.ru or a .com.ru?
Q2) has anyone actually got one yet, ive been refused 4 times
Q3) is ne1 who has got a free russian domain and has been accepted willing to get me one

are there ne templates etc. for filling this in

and the most important question...

Well, it is a little more complicated than getting a .xxx.kg. :)

First, you need an organization template on file. Fill that one in, and wait for the NIC handle to come back.

Once you have that, you can apply for a maintainer handle, using the maintainer template. You have to wait for the NIC handle to come back.

Then, you can use domain templates to apply for your domains.

One thing you have to be careful about is nameservers. The two nameservers you use MUST have different zones in any of the first 3 positions. For example 64.65.66.67 as NS1 and 64.65.77.68 as NS2 would be fine, but 64.6.66.65 and 64.65.66.68 would not work.

RIPN does do a nameserver check before delegating the domains, so don't try to cheat, or your domain will not be delegated (and your mailbox will be filled with failures for the next week or two.)

I haven't got a clue what the Cyrillic says. I always use the English version.

BTW - the templates are pretty much the same as RIPE uses.

And, yes, I have a half dozen .com.ru, .net.ru , etc. .com.ru, .net.ru, .pp.ru and .org.ru are the free ones.

more request rejected!!!! losing hope fast, cant these people make a simple application form and give u a reason why u are refused. not giving up hough- im sending every variation of an applcication known to man and they will either get fed up of me and give me a domain or ill go insane doing it, either way is gud 4 me

i need a russian domain or at least want one bad enough to waste my time on it

I'd need to find a full set of good templates to post here. I got my handles a couple years ago.

I could get you a domain, but it would be in my name, so you couldn't do much with it. You couldn't do modification, renewals, etc.

It is possible to do it. :) It took me quite a while to get it right, changing whatever they said was wrong each time it was rejected, but got it eventually. :)
