I have a new idea. I think it would be good if we had a webhosting scam forum so that nobody gets scams from people. I also think that this will help other people save money so they no longer get there money wasted. What do you think? Any good? no good?

I disagree.

Yeah, I can't see that there are very many scams going around so that they warrant their own forum.

You have to consider the fact that 95% of the people who advertise here are not legit business'/companies and are therefor operating under the table/scammers.

The webhosting industry is full of overselling kids with cpanel reseller accounts.
If they did what your asking we would have no one left here except a few people,

Scam allegations could also be created based on one side of a story which would be unfair to one person, this could also lead to legal disputes between FWS and the unhappy party, complaints to remove threads etc.

Personally i dont like the extra competition. i also dont like how most of them operate.
I dont know what roberts reasoning is but i agree with his disagree, if that makes any sense ;)

Nice thoughts anyway, i know you mean well!.

I disagree.
Agreed, with Robert.

It's nothing but a good way for Peo and the rest of the staff to get in hot water with hosting companies, and potentially find themselves in legal troubles.

What's to stop someone from slandering a hosting service just because they have a beef with them?

But seriously, you can tell who is legit and who isn't quite quickly. If one lacks common sense or even the slightest bit of intuition, then my opinion is that he or she deserves to get his/her money taken.

Anyway, back on topic. I think that it is now a bad idea after what ryza has said. My thoughts were based on facts, but your facts interconnect and completly destroy my idea, which i am happy with. Because i am quite new. Has this idea been suggested before?

Oh boy, Robert disagrees with you and you resort to posting childish images?

Good on you.

It has been suggested on a few forums and always gets the thumbs down. Too many legalities to consider. And just because you consider someone scammed you, might not apply to all that person's other clients.

I did not post it becuase i disagree. IT was spam. Short pointless annoying messages was the reason i posted that gay thread image

Oh, why did you remove it?

I already understand the reason why it was rejected.

How was that annoying? All he did was state his opinion. He disagrees, it's as simple as that. And he's allowed to do so.

Plus, being a moderator, he actually has a say in the matter.

There won't be a webhosting scam forum, so I'm closing the thread now.
