Hi.
I only have one microphone, and today, i took it out of my desktop, and put it in to my laptop.
On my desktop, i can talk, and i can hear my self on the speakers.
On my laptop, i can only hear myself when i use sound recorder.
I have tried fiddling around in volume control (muting the microphone, and putting line in on 100% and vise verser), but nothing happens.
Any ideas about whats going on?
Thanks, BEN.

I dont think what you are saying is a problem. On certain computers under certain configurations you can't hear yourself through the speakers. However, this doesn't mean that your mic is broken. Everything works, you just can't hear yourself through the speakers, this is usually to prevent echos.

FYI its not the mic at all its all in the settings on the computer so the quality of the mic make no difference...I belive in the first post he also said he could record himself them im guesing play it back so that mic is not broken he just wants it turned back on...I have used a program to do this before because i was DJing for a party and all the music and audio was running through my computer...If that is what you are trying to do i would recomend getting some sort of DJ software...I had a free trial ill find out what one it is and let you know ;)
