Has anyone ever here done Mac web hosting? I've never heard a personal story from anyone who's tried it.

i would think it could work well,
mac seem to make it look good on here site

there seems to be a few hosts if u look around on google but i dono i am not a huge fun of macs anyway

For strictly web pages, I guess that's fine. It probably doesn't work well with gameservers if there even are ready-made builds for the mac.

mac? never heard of mac servers. Better not get your mac laptop or mac desktop and host. Its too expensive to do that.

There are a few Mac based web hosts around using Apple's Xserve servers (I have even seen some using Mac minis as mini dedicated servers). Overall it is a good platform to use, but as most people looking for shared hosting would not take advantage of many of the services Mac OS X 10.4 Server offers, the additional cost would deter many people. As Mac OS X is based around UNIX, it provides a similar solution as Linux based hosts with additional Mac OS X only services such as QuickTime streaming and WebObjects. :)
Better not get your mac laptop or mac desktop and host. Its too expensive to do that.
The initial investment may be more, but overall (by the time you factor in the cost of repairing equipment and so on) the costs would be similar.
