Can't Uninstall...??

Well i hope someone has an answer i've been pulling my hair out all day...

I have installed microsoft office, office frontpage ect ect all fine..

Installed microsoft office project and half way it just stoped and the computer freezed so i had to hit the power button to turn it off waited a few seconds and then turned it back on and tried to install the software again..

A message poped up saying it can't install microsoft project when another instance is present it says goto the add/remove programs in the control panel to remove it first BUT it's not in the list so how can i remove it???

Any ideas anyone please..

hmm...not on the list. You could manualy uninstall it by going to its folder and deleting it and try from there. Or you could consult microsoft for a answer. Good luck!

But, that wont delete the registry entries, after deleting that, go to start-run-type regedit

NO, no, no you dont want to go in to the registry without knowing what to do and what to look for. If you delete something by mistake it can cause all sorts of complications.

If you have it still running, for example, closing all applications still running on Office. It happens, just like Limewire not being on computer anymore, but still trying to open itself (that was a fun time) Did you get it clean? As in, you didnt get it free with a crack serial number did you? Because if you did, and are trying to reinstall it again with the same file as before, it may not work (just a theory anyways). Also, did you delete something before and didnt know it? I had to do a system restore just to get my task manager back. Just some ideas, because I use FP as well. Just dont ask me how I got it.

Start>>Programs>>Microsoft Office Tools>>Microsoft Office Application Recovery

This is assuming you left the shortcut. Open that, and see if there is anything there, kind of like a print job running. You could multiple things in there, such as when I had 4 apps of FP running at the same time. Good luck.

You can manually uninsall the program. It should be listed with all the other programs you installed. That does happen sometimes.

Find where you installed it the first time then double click on the uninstall file there but don't uninstall it simply click on recovery. It'll install what ever it didn't the first time. If you still have problems you can contact me at my website.
