Seems some are for and some are against having reputation enabled. Let's put it to the vote!
I have noticed many have disabled it in their control panel, so there is obviously a reason for it. So have your say and vote.

I understand why people would disable it, but since they can I don't see reason to get rid of it.
The reputation system may actually improve threads, in that people can click the reputation button instead of cluttering with a post in the thread to express their like or dislike of a post.
The only negative in my view is that the vB icons are a bit obscure and I once submitted a report by mistake thinking I was giving reputation... but I'm sure I'm the only one with a skilled enough imagination to make the 'report' screen look like the reputation window. ;)

Why is it I think that those who're going to vote to remove the reputation feature are those who have achieved a bad reputation around here... I say it's a good thing, label the people who aren't well thought of and the newer members might have an easier time distinguishing between them... the reputation system also offers an incentive for users to post better things, probably leading to an overall better community...

Hehe, yeah vB3 leaves a lot to be desired ;)
Whatever the results of the poll are, it will ultimately be Peo's decision. But the outcome should be interesting. I feel people are using them the wrong way. I always thought they were meant to judge a person on the way they conduct business transactions, but then I guess if they are potty mouthed on the forum, they wouldn't have much business sense either. :S

actually i voted to keep it tandoc, and I have a really bad rep.
Also, I need some help.
If someone gives you reputations how do you know whether it is good or bad, because I got 3 colours:
Black
Red
Green
So I am confused

Black - The user disabled it.
Green - Good.
Red - Bad
having multiples means that you're very 'whatever the colour represents'.

Meh it's really no big deal. Keeping it or leaving it has very little effect on the forum altogether, so we might as well keep it. It can be somewhat interesting. Then again....if we ditch it, we need to super good rep me before it goes so I can overtake cowax for the most reputation points :p
