I was wondering if anybody knows of a host that:

-Allows FTP Upload
-Supports large file sizes (like 30 or 40 megs)
-Has an efficient amount of space (eg. 200 megs or so)

All help is appreciated. thx

Forgive me for asking, but what do you need all that space for?

Oh so, I can break into a store now.

If you want host warez buy a server. And be paranoid because the authorities may go after you. That is the only way I can see that you need so much space and such big file sizes.

Anyway, back to the original topic. I believe that http://www.digital-host.net/ offers this, however, they are very very very very very very very slow, even compared to Nightsteel, who isn't accepting new sign-ups.

"Digital Hosting's MySQL is currently offline, therefore rendering our pages, and any MySQL user pages, inoperable."

it's so slow for me too, and there isn't any menu or link on their site (i didn't see any leastways...)
just the paid services link works for me...
it sucks

the only host that would survive with PHP/mySQL would offer:

LOTS OF ADS PLACED ON YOUR SITE
A 20 MB DATABASE (mySQL)*
2 MB WEBSPACE WITH PHP

NO EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS

that's it. :p

i'm talking about:

1. Hosting only (nothing else) sites
2. Longevity (if they plan to last for years to come)
3. An excess of 5000 users

Oh, hehe. I don't know if any of you are familiar with the popular PC Game, Half-life? I am the webmaster for a MOD for the game. We need the space for our releases.

thx

I love Half-Life.........
But can't really think of a place that would allow that much space and have a high file size like that.

However, have you looked into gaming websites, like PlanetHalflife.com I know that they offer hosting. I think they offer virtually unlimited space & bandwidth.

If they don't work out or don't accept you, I know there are a lot of places like that, that can host you

This could help:
http://www.freewebspace.net/cgi-bin/games/db.cgi?sb=1&so=ascend&view_records=1&Space=%3E50&FTP=FTP

It just lists all the places (on the freewebspace.net database), that have FTP and all (except one) have unlimited space.
