I have SoundMAX Digital Integrated Audio. Sometimes, my sound will randomly stop working, and the control panel will tell me that the "Digital Output is taken by another application". I know I'm being really vague, actually I'm hopin someone has seen the exact same problem and found a solution, cuz I can't find one.
Thanks for the time.

Driver updates...search google. I had to do this when a older machine of mine would loose sound after about 30 mins to an hour. After updating the driver it works fine!

It could be a conflict between the driver and some other piece of spyware like an overly aggressive antivirus or antispyware program or even caused by spyware or virus infection.

Yea that's what I am thinking Conscript. I think it's about time for a system reboot. The Antivirus/Adware progs see nothing, But I have a feeling that's it.

Have the same problem as Striker and it's Feb 23, 2007.
I tried dxdiag, can't hear any test sounds.
Restart works; but, pain when working on something.
There are so many "listings" in my sound and video I have no clue as to what to delete or update. This started after a system rebuild about 6 months ago. I have auto updates on and run Symantec security.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
