View Full Version : File host needed

I need someone to host some archives of my past bands' sound files. I wouldn't need a full website, just a page or two listing the name and description of the files to be downloaded. I'm looking for:

* Unlimited filesize. One of the files is a 500+ MB zip. It would be inconvenient to split it up, but I will if I have to.
* 500-1000 gig bandwidth. Realistically, it'll probably be 500 MB once or twice a week, maybe not even that often. A lot of people liked my bands, but I'm being realistic here! :)
* Unlimited duration. I wouldn't want files deleted if nobody downloads them for several weeks.
* Upload via FTP.

I have absolutely no problem if the page is very heavy on ads. I will gladly ask downloaders to click all of the ads on the page to support the host.

unlimited everything

Everything has a limit ani-m. I highly doubt a free host will give anyone 500 - 1000GB of bandwidth considering that would be between half to all of the resources of most servers. You should seriously consider paid hosting WyattRiot. Work out your exact requirements and a budget, then search for an established host that can meet these requirements. :)

A 500 MB ZIP would be practically useless!

Nobody could download it without downloading the entire thing
and slower connections or older computers could have problems
downloading the entire file in one session.

It would make a lot more sense to setup a spanning ZIP or
a split RAR volume. This would allow the file to be downloaded
in smaller chunks that are more easily managable and less
likely to something going wrong during the download.

You're right, and the more I think about it, putting up the songs individually would be fine, but I would still need about 800 MB of space, all (or most) of which would probably be downloaded at the same time. (If someone wants the files, they'll probably download them all at once, not over several days.) But, like I said earlier, I doubt people will be downloading every day, or even every week.
