~$100 per month including hardware rental. $60 per month if you purchase the $600 equipment upfront.
It's pretty slow too... 500/50k. Pings are generally in the 1-2 second range, so online gaming and such is out of the question.
It's expensive and not really worth it, in my opinion.

Well this is all assuming Directway, though I'm sure other providers aren't much different.

satelites sounds fast. Our ISP is developing wireless internet within Malaysia. Wireless broadband up to 2mbps/2mpbs. I cant wait.

Satellite internet is expensive and very slow. I personally do not recommend it.

Wireless Broadband is not the same as satelite Internet.

Where can you purchase the equipment for $600?
I've been looking at having 2 way broadband satelite installed in an RV, and the equipment alone costs around £6,000 including installation. That's almost 20 times the cost you quoted. I'd be interested to know if the one you mention would work for Europe

That price is directly from DirecWay. It's only available in the US and Canada though.
Didn't think the price would be that much different though. Ouch.

Yeah, I've been looking at a datastorm installation and that seems to be the general costs..

They used to have DirectWay at the place I used to work at because when it was built it was in farm country and that was all they could get. It was terribly slow... About as slow as dial-up. I would not recommend them.

DirecWay is indeed, very slow. However it is available pretty much anywhere within US or Canada. Its not worth the cost per month though. We are are a reseller of them (and many ISPs) at my job, and we get someone every once in a while to sign up, but its rare and not reccomended! If I do recall, they also require a year-contract.
And no, in case someone is wondering, your DirecTV satellite does NOT work with DirecWay, even though they are owned by the same company. You must purchase a second specialized satellite and reciever, if that is the case.

If its DirecWay then you surely dont want that. I worked for DirecTV at one point in time and that connection is worser than dial-up.
